I completely understand that email forwarding services can be temperamental, but at the time I had assumed this would be as reliable as Cloudflare's other services. These emails are not critically important, but as with all emails, I'd quite like to be able to read them.

I am just a little concerned that this is a repeating problem and there hasn't been a massive amount of communication towards a solution. I would imagine that everyone using this service, regardless of the importance of their emails, are using it to consistently forward emails. I completely understand that this isn't directly Cloudflare's fault here, but I'm just a bit confused as to if I should be staying with this product if it is struggling to fullfil its core objectives and is showing little sign of improvement.

You're all good. At least for me personally, I have a few emails each day going to gmail and they've been fine, not sure why gmail is upset at your forwarding, but I'm just saying in general even if CF finds some workaround/communicates with the gmail team to get this fixed, it's very likely it will reoccur occasionally in some form with some providers. It's just the nature of forwarding to some place you don't have control over, you're breaking spf/forwarding potentially spam through your/their domain, etc.

In short, you can really only receive
In long, Email Workers can reply (but only at that instant of email incoming), and Workers in general can send out email but only to verified addresses

You can use something separate for sending, i.e. I use Brevo for SMTP, then I added the account to the same inbox I was receiving on using the SMTP API key. The end result is functionality like any other email account.

Cloudflare does not offer email sending.

You cant use email routing and workspace at the same time. (At least not without a very complex setup)

If you are not wanting to pay for Google Workspace and wanted to use Email Routing.. You will need 1) a mailbox to use for the destintation route. And if you want SMTP/outbound to truly be signed by your domain for increased deliverability, you would need a paid service for that outbound leg.

Hi, we build a solution in CF workers to store attachments from incoming mails to R2. Sometimes the emails are marked as Rejected mostly due to some misconfigured sender mail server (SPF / DKIM). Is there any possibility to receive these emails in our Worker script? It should be very nice if we could change some setting to tell the email route that it should always deliver to the worker and let the worker script make the decision to process the email based on a spam score or sender address. Are there any plans to introduce this functionality?

I keep on getting these messages when I use email lists I've built using a combination of email routing and a worker. I'm aware that gmail filters these messages and I'd like to turn these warnings off. Is there a way of doing this?

As mentioned, these are email lists, they would be kind of pointless if I remove recipients, every time a recipient replies to this email list as part of an ongoing discussion, they get this email.

As the screenshot mentions, if you're sending from a gmail account and you include that same gmail account.. Google is discarding it as a duplicate. So, open a ticket with Google, and ask them if there's a way to exclude your gmail account from the rules they impose on their servers. Good luck.

Thanks for the response, that is however not the issue, the fact that google dismisses emails sent to yourself (via an alias) is in my case wanted behavior, the fact that cloudflare warns me about this behavior every time this happens is the unwanted behavior. As mentioned the reason this happens is because this concerns email lists so I'm on the list and when I want to reply to all the other people on the list I get this email, as do all other people when they reply on the list. Which is annoying, therefor I'd like to turn this warning email off.

I understand the reason. But if you're sending from a gmail to the same gmail, no matter the method in which you do it, google is likely to discard unless a method like ARC is employed.

Turning it off... only for you.. beause it annoys you. I think that's an exception. But, I did want to know. Are you using just standard email routing from the dash or email workers? The ARC rewrite may (I'm not a programmer, just an old school postmaster) be possible with email workers.

I'm using email workers, though I guess under the hood it's the same thing. But I was of course referring to an option that everyone has to turn off these emails, maybe indeed something that you could push as part of the workers code or a setting in the dashboard to turn of warnings for your account. Not sure what you are referring to in the ARC rewrite.

But, ARC is now a forced requirement for consistent deliverability to Google/Microsoft.

hopefully this helps (I just make the assumption if you ARC your mail, google will no longer think it's "From: Gmail account -- To: samegmailaccount"... which would stop those messages; but, you're right, perhaps it is a worker's "flag" or whatever the term would be. I'll be watching, you have me curious now.

Hi, I've been wanting to do an http call for the Catch-all address and have attached an email worker to it. But the email worker gets triggered a little to much. I also have mailforwarding in the same worker and the mails recieved in the inbox match the number of times i've sent mail. Ideally the number of mails recieved should match the number of http calls done in the worker, unless im missing something

Hi, could any @cloudflare dev @Cloudflare (Dev) @Cloudflare Internal member answer my question? Is it possible to whitelist sender email addresses or even a full email route to always deliver the email to the worker script? Then in the worker script we can decide if it sent from a valid source (we use it to download specific XML attachments, so we can skip spam mails easily).
Now emails are sometimes not reaching our worker due to some spam rejection. I can see them in de the dashboard with an error, but they did not reach my worker script.
