GSystemctl works just the same yeah. Same with writing unit files, as they're all stored in /etc/, which is writeable

GI think you'd be able to make the transition to atomic distros pretty easily

CI do compile the odd emulator or two(or five), but if anything using containers for that would be a more sane option
Pswitching from gnome to kde images isn't supported
Papparently causes conflicts on DE files
EAs long as a new user is created these files shouldn't cause conflict
BMy bazzite seems to be fundamentally broken, sddm crashes on boot (which I can't manage with systemd because it just hangs), can't manually run kde via a VT, can't even turn the damn thing off without it then hanging with everything taking forever to stop

BYes, but the issue is intermittent
BI just hard rebooted and it worked, but 2 reboots ago (and a rollback) it didn't work
BSddm logs just say that it crashed
ETry making a new user account and see if there are any issues present

EIf there are issues it could be something that was configured on your user profile
BI mean the issue happens before even logging in, just get a black screen with the mouse and EVENTUALLY an image of the sddm login screen shows (but you can't interact with it)
