LI'm about to try the OH-6 for the first time. Not sure whether or not I want a simulated force trim (OH-6 had none). I'll try what trim override feels like. Would it be like the IRL thingy then?

NWhile I've never flown a IRL helicopter, let alone an OH-6.. for max realism, you would want only the hat-trim overrides in place as the heli does have motorized trim, but does not have traditional "mag brake force trim"
LCouldn't even start the OH-6A, N1 never rises above 18 no matter how long I hold the starter button. Nice cockpit though, I felt right at home in it!
NI think you must use the mouse to turn on the fuel in the current 1.1 version.. I saw a bug that the keybind makes the knob move, but it doesn't actually turn on the fuel
SI don't know if you found or received an answer yet, but I had the same issue (stick in a very forward position) and I found a solution/explanation somewhere in old posts.

SI have been to DCS bug forums for F-14 and found two reports regarding this with bug being accepted by dev team but not resolved. Maybe if more people would post after me there?

NI dont really fly the F-14, so I'm not very adept at using the autopilot. If I were a betting man, I would say the issue is that their internal calculations that determine whether AP can be enabled is somehow including the joystick position in the calculations, and since the FFB center position is offset from physical X/Y 0, it throws everything off (%100 speculation).
Oddly.. this seems to work
- When set up to engage AP, press the autopilot reference/nosewheel steering button, and then give your stick a little shove forward. The AP seems to activate for me when I do this. However It seems the FFB wants to constantly hunt back and forth for center while AP is engaged.

NIts definitely fun to rip around it. I found that I needed to increase the sensitivity of the pedals. I think I set the saturation-X to %60.. the more sensitive configuration, for me at least, makes it easier to dance on the pedals to keep the nose pointed in the right direction

PI normally fly the Huey with the rhino, and have a pretty stiff spring setting, but for the oh 6 I found lowering the spring force made it a lot easier to move the stick to keep up the heli. Or maybe I should just make the curves more sensitive?
NI think IRL the "spring centering" force on the OH6 is not very strong, but it "stays where you trim it". Unlike the UH1 for example, where when the mag-brake is engaged, you have to fight against some pretty heavy springs to deflect the cyclic.

SIt will basically descent and crash
SOn spring loaded joy with FFB off all is okay. I engage AP, ALT, and REF. Altitude is held, can bank remaining on alt hold, AP does the work.
SVery important feature st night in weather for CASE III and other hold patterns

WIs it better to mount the shift register close to the buttons, eg in the stick/yoke and run the data cable to the VPForce board. Given the distance will be about 600mm.

Mstrange - 1)UH60 gave it another try everything ticked and bound as per screen shot (removed the ingame trim bindings) and I get no force trim at all in the UH60 - in order to get anything I need to untick and bind trim in the in game menu and it them works again (resets the stick centre) but it kind of jumps double the movement input on the stick (but this makes the UH60 almost flyable!) - any suggestions whats going wrong? 2)OH6 mod - give it a try with this mod and ticked all the boxes as directed and the left right up down does not seem to have effect?
VAny ideas on the best way to mount my FFB and the best position? Having trouble wrapping my head around how and where to mount it as well as what seat will work so that I can get the stick all the way back but not have to lean forward to much when pushed forward at full deflection. Any idea? Tips? Tricks? I’ll take anything!
NSorry, I guess I’m out of ideas to try to help you. These are basic features of the configurator software that work independently of any game or TelemFFB. Perhaps you forgot to apply the settings after enabling the features.
VIf the issue is too much deflection, then you can limit that with endstops, either in software or 3d printed ones. Also check out showcase topic to see how others mounted it. I struggled with it for a long time too, wanting a center desk mount and using a regular office chair.
VI think "balance spring" may need some rethinking. I have a little Z extension and my Rhino mounted at an angle, which exacerbates the issue, but I think its true for everyone with an extension or gooseneck where the top of the stick, or rather, its center of gravity, does not end up directly above the center of rotation. As its implemented now, I can apply a centering force for Y and -Y, but this doesnt yield a desirable effect. At "zero" position and even slightly -Y (forward) the stick will still want to fall towards me, and applying -Y force only makes it worse.
what I would really need ,is be able to tell Vpforce at what deflection angle the stick is naturally balanced (this could be very different from center position). No force should be applied there. As you deviate from this position, a centering force would be applied that is proportional to the cosine of the angle -and this force value would be the same on all axis, as it would depend on the weight/length of the stick. The applied force would be that value x cos (angle from balance point)

Bthe nlr seat imo is about the second most comfortable seat I have apart from my couch. Granted I don't fly for hours and hours and hours, but honestly if you do I don't know of any chair that remains comfortable for that long.
Mthanks for the reply - actually I did not apply any of these changes (assumed any changes that were made in this section were applied in game as soon as the adjustments were made!) - please could you tell me (step by step) what I need to do to ensure they get applied? - than I will test it again.....

I have a simple arcade type chair that fits me like a glove but would be horrible for a much larger type.
I’m 5’10 and 170 so I sit on the slimmer side and maybe that’s why the cheaper chairs don’t bother me as much as they bother other people.
So I guess it really also matters about your body type (and yeah how many hours will you be putting on the pad)

BAs far as I can tell I haven't seen any of these seats be anything but cheap, some manufacturers just charge more for them, bit like audio equipment in that regard, Don't have much size on you, just about 6' (183cm), albeit 210lbs (before breakfast ).
As for fitting the rhino, I just stacked some 2x4 to create a pedestal, and attached it straight to the floor with wood screws

Bhaven't found the center cut out all that important, as I have mostly opted to go without an extension on the rhino.
And the Boeing pit center mount is so ridiculously high it served no function in the basic configuration.
