however why do you need to set it to reserve 12GB for compressed ram? you know this doesnt magically conjure up ram, just like adding 12GB of swap/pagefile does not give you 12GB of ram in any OS (even though it fools some system requirement checks)

i need to put 12gb of zram cause Star Citizen use a LOT OF RAM !
I just have 24gb and it crash, from peoples from SC community said it's required to have 32gb + 4gb swap or 24gb + 12gb swap

zram does not work the same way as normal swap/pagefiles

swap/pagefile places unused ram that is still occassionally needed onto your disk (so it becomes slower to access if you need that ram)
some ancient methods to check how much ram you have will report total ram as ram+swap

zram will compress the the unneeded ram in memory, effectively letting you squeeze out some more memory but thats it

maybe one is running as root and the other as normal user? I heard there is a lot of issues like that if you created a root account at installation
