Vhonestly the thing that is important to me is not the technical aspect of having two separate distros. it's the cognitive segregation of the tasks of gaming vs working
ATDP control works, just TDP via steam's TDP slider is no longer possible
Twell we have all that separated without the cognitive part

LAs long as you make sure to mount the game ssd and tell steam to look at it, then yeah it would be much easier to manage if you didnt feel like reinstalling a game multiple times per os (if you are limited on physical drives you can always put the games on a seperate partition to achieve a similar affect but this will introduce complexity)
AHHD is a much bigger piece to the handheld puzzle than SDTDP
ALinux on Handhelds would be in a much sadder state without it

VI created a shortcut using bash shorcut on decky plugin, now I can change the tdp on gamemode and the gpu is working great

V@Kyle Gospo i think i figured out what has been causing the "sd card full" issue when they're clearly not full and only 50-70% full after it happened to me again in a reinstall and i played around trying to find the reason. what's happening is the btrfs filesystem not being balanced correctly and the metadata filling up so nothing more can be written. and to do anything with the drive when it fills up, the only way to "fix" it is to attach another btrfs temporary usb drive, add it to the btrfs poll, rebalance, and remove that temporary drive. but then that didn't fully fix it and the problem still happened again later. you can see the unbalanced data with "btrfs fi show" and "btrfs filesystem usage /path/to/drive"
VHOWEVER, when removing "ssd_spread" from the format/mount options said unbalancing problem doesn't happen
KInteresting, I've never been able to reproduce this problem on any hardware, even back in the steamos days
