Happy Saturday! Figured Id drop in and see if we had heard anything about when the steam power tools API (Whatever Valve is calling it) will actually ship so that I can adjust my TDP on my LeGO again

Ive basically been stuck at a fixed TDP of 19-21w on the LeGO since Valve made that change and broke TDP sliders for all non-steamdecks handhelds.

You can adjust the tdp already with the hhd overlay

SimpleDeckyTDP still does nothing. HHD threw an error because SimpleDeckyTDP was installed

. Ill remove the plugin and try TDP controls in just HHD

Right; that brings up HHD. Within HHD if you try the beta TDP controls it throws an error if it detects SimpleTDP installed

Actually it is doing something. Its just not as predictable as SimpleDecky TDP was. If I set it to 8w my total system wattage stays ~22w, but if I bump it up it will hit 30-35w total power usage. So ... its like the baseline is higher than I was used to before

Looking at the total system power usage. When I was using simpleTDP I could get it down to around 17w (Albeit most games ran like crap at that power level)

With HHD it bottoms out at ~22w, but will go up to ~34w

best way would be doing a pull request to add -pipewire-pipewire in here https://github.com/ChimeraOS/gamescope-session-steam/blob/015e09825d4f9a2dfdbc20fc2711e2dcee2af68a/usr/share/gamescope-session-plus/sessions.d/steam#L98C1-L99C1 or a patch

You can only manually limit the gpu and cpu. Set mango HUD to Max details and you'll see how much each is using

The total includes everything else. The screen, WiFi, Bluetooth

Could they just copy the /usr/share/gamescope-session-plus/sessions.d/steam file over to /var/home/$USER/.config/environment.d/gamescope-session-plus.conf and add the line and have it used instead of the system conf?
