Problem is… Telem is way ahead and keeps pushing active updates!

So that’s where the (early days) Apple v Android comes into play.

It’s honestly the software and this software is also.. on a rocket ship so it’s just light year ahead and moving faster

I hate to sound like a fan boy but yeah… you hit the nail on the head and none of them will ever truly compete until they can get some sort of Telem stuff figured out AND they can out push updates because Rhino also keeps getting better and pushing its own bar even further…

So it’s always a great discussion but yeah that’s why I chose to ride a Rhino.

funny thing to me is the lack of Estop on ffbeast - there was a whole forum discussion on it being "overkill" on rhino, but if there ever was a base that needed one I'd think it would be the 35Nm one

Hi! The other day I was in the F14. Engines shut down, drained the hydraulics pressure for the flight controls. I was expecting to feel some difference in the pressure I need to put in to

Someone will likely correct me on technicalities, but I do not believe the F-14 (or any fixed wing aircraft I know of) controls work that way. Unlike a helicopter where the control column is hydraulicly boosted (and becomes difficult to manipulate without hydraulic pressure), the stick only manipulate hydraulic actuators which in turn manipulate the control surfaces. So the loss of pressure would result in reduced or zero control effectiveness.. but you would not feel it in the stick.

That said, even if I am wrong, it is not modeled for any aircraft in DCS.

As Kowalsky pointed out, there is a (still experimental) feature in TelemFFB, mostly meant for the helo's that can increase the dampen/friction forces below a certain hydraulic pressure threshold. But its somewhat complicated to set up because of the normal way we have our dampen/friction/inertia configurations setup. You can read about it in the TelemFFB manual.

I'm not sure since there's never been a version with checkboxes but no settings sliders. The "old" version didn't have any effect settings in the UI (was all text config based). The new versions have always had settings with checkboxes to enable and sliders to adjust.

Maybe a screenshot of what you do see would help.

You can always grab the latest from https://github.com/walmis/VPforce-TelemFFB/releases. Once installed (just a un-zip) it should allow you to auto-update when there are new versions.

Didn't noticed anything either.. just a little panel shake as it goes through. Only took it through ETL a few times just to get numbers for the default telem profile but it seems pretty tame during the transition.

This is slightly different to the profile you shared in the VPForce Profile Sharing section (as I was looking at that last night). Are you using a z-extension out of interest and that is why there is a 10% set for the balance spring
