I agree totally but the issue being there's no central list of laptops that work well with Linux that I can point to and secondly I can't expect people to pay for a new laptop just for Linux support.

I'm not campaigning for a Laptop ProtonDB. It stems from the point I made about trying to get people to try Linux and them worrying about compatibility issues with their current laptops.

the only feature of hhd that uses a kernel driver is tdp for the ally, and fixing the controllers after sleep
