on the real @tulip i think the reason we explicitly kind of support appimage here because bazzite was originally intended for the steam deck, and some applications there use the appimage format, or something like emudeck installs certain emulators as appimage vs flatpak for some reason

Theoretically, distrobox apps will load the into ram the libraries from the container. So yes. But we're talking kilobytes, or megabytes maybe. doubtful it's really causing drag on your resources
