Some people prefer metal, for durability, when changing grips often. I personally haven't had issues with the stock ones. Just don't cross thread the stock one and it will last forever
If i wanted to upgrade/make a FFB collective how would i go about doing that? Make a collective base from stratch or would i upgrade a base (like for example virpils offering) with a motor kit?
One thing that i think would be nice is if ur in AP the collective moves since you might disengage the AP if you accidentally move the non ffb collective while a ffb collective wouldn't completely negate that, it would still mean that there isnt a significant difference in ingame and irl collective position
Another solution would be to disable input from the collective while AP is on. Honestly, I figured helo AP was only the cyclic, and maybe the anti-torque pedals, but not collective
Best thing about the collective is in my eyes the feeling of vibrations/periodic effects and the comfortable configuration of friction, inertia, damping and travel. I'm loving it!
They're gear is decent where they've made huge inroads has been putting up compelling offers, particularly on the entry side of things. My guess is the new ff base will be low on power, like 3-5nm but also probably $500. If they're smart they adopt the M36 stem, which I suspect they will. In simracing they adopted the same quick release Simagic used, making their rims mechanically compatible with their competitor.
Moza is basically the more affordable Fanatec but with a smaller advertisement footprint. Also unlike Fanatec you can buy their products in stores, such as Microcenter. In fact there's a very high likelihood it will be possible to buy their flight sim gear in stores like Microcenter.
This is a big deal for flight sim accessibility because in such a scenario their direct competition are Logitech and Thrustmaster, primarily. Simply by being IN STORES they have a wider reach to the general populace than places like Virpil, VKB, and WinWing.
Also they have a few products that work on Xbox, so their push for flight sim may include Xbox compatibility with eyes focused on MSFS 2024 end of this year.
