WI wouldn't expect a crash but I would expect games to open very slowly if you doing a massive copy operation

the most common way to do it is to spawn new windows on the monitor where the cursor is. gnome instead spawns it where the last focused window is (having focus follow the cursor as a workaround will introduce other funny issues)
