RI'm still running SteamOS on my Deck and will continue to do so
KWe ship all of those patches and more, Steam OS is a immutable variant of arch that is built from snapshots that can be fairly old
VTo be fair SteamOS uses the exact same drivers as any other distro. It's performance is smack dab average, if not lesser than because of it's update cycle.
