You can set the resolution per game in game mode, but you are always better setting it via the game settings themselves

That is a workaround that Chimera OS developed, 720p is the only setting you can't use

That's because that's the default, so if it didn't behave as native every single game in game mode would run at 720p by default

For those you can just set it in the game settings and not in Steam game mode which is why that's always preferable
