Li just ran a test between my two devices for audio latency and here's what i discovered:
hardware/OS:
lenovo legion go (amd ryzen z1 extreme) running bazzite-deck-gnome
framework laptop 13 (intel i7-1260p) running endeavouros
both were as 64 buffer size, using pipewire-jack, and reaper (using the top right info, as well as my ears)
- using the stock arch kernel, arch had ~4 ms of latency (and could be felt when playing guitar into my audio interface, really badly when plugins are used)
- on bazzite's
- using the liqourix kernel, arch got a ~1.3 ms of latency! (could not be perceived no matter what to my ears)
i'd also like to add that i'm in the realtime group on bazzite, as well as having enabled full preemption. arch did not have anything like that. steam was exited during this test.
