A GT 710 can handle 144hz given the right circumstancec
V
Valerie
•
6/26/24, 3:25 AM
My 6700xt can handle 144hz at 1440p in some games
, I don
't see why a 6600xt couldn
't especially at resolutions lower than 1440
.
K

I can't get over this shit

This looks good
! It
's not like the Minecraft I remember
,is like inverse nostalgia
?

Why not

On 144hz I get moments of black flashes
. Displays turns off occasionally I trouble shooted a couple years back the same issue and it was lowering the Refresh rate

Try turning off VRR
V
Valerie
•
6/26/24, 3:26 AM
Yeah
, that
's not normal lol
S
Shiina
•
6/26/24, 3:26 AM
I have the issue still happens just less frequently
K
Kyle Gospo
•
6/26/24, 3:26 AM
Yeah
, no part of that is normal
K
Kyle Gospo
•
6/26/24, 3:26 AM
And based on that I doubt your GPU is the problem
K
Kyle Gospo
•
6/26/24, 3:26 AM
Black flashes are typically the monitor or the cable
S
Shiina
•
6/26/24, 3:27 AM
I have a different system using the same exact cable and monitor and its running at 144hz with VRR
(GCN 1
.0
) gpu
V
Valerie
•
6/26/24, 3:27 AM
I imagine the 6700xt and 6600xt use the same connections for display out
, and assuming you
're seeing 144hz advertised in settings it should work
.
V
Valerie
•
6/26/24, 3:27 AM
Yep
, both are DP 1
.4
V
Valerie
•
6/26/24, 3:27 AM
And HDMI 2
.1
S
Shiina
•
6/26/24, 3:28 AM
It also only seems to have happened in DP
. Maybe it
's a problem with the DP chip on the card
?
V
Valerie
•
6/26/24, 3:28 AM
I mean maybe
, but it
's weird to have intermittent issues like that
.
S
Shiina
•
6/26/24, 3:29 AM
The model I troubleshooted was also an MSI card iirc
V
Valerie
•
6/26/24, 3:30 AM
It
's just odd
V
Valerie
•
6/26/24, 3:30 AM
Often even low
-spec cards support absurdly high resolution
/refresh
-rate compared to what they could get in gaming just for the sake of compatibility
.
