Just wanted to say how great bazzite has been for me. I was a windows user until 2 months ago. Bazzite has been amazing. Small issues but who doesnt have them. keep up the AMAZING work!
I can see homelabs it being beneficial. Since you don’t have to deal with all the extra recovery, you can just easily rollback without any hassle or extra software.
In the enterprise server world these tools already exist and are in place for the majority of infrastructure, so there’s not really as much need. Now that being said, I think it would be incredibly interesting to have all the server in an enterprise be atomic in nature.
the way it usually works is the fleet does a rolling upgrade as a whole. For example in kubernetes when the OS needs an update it takes a few them out from behind the load balancer, kills the workloads, launches new ones on new nodes, adds them into the rotation, then the nodes update, or get reprovisioned, then get tossed back into the mix, rinse and repeat.
i guess in the context of enterprise server you can always minimize downtime using multiple server, but using few or one server you still need to have few minutes downtime for updating every few days or week
It's super bad when you work for a school or something and have to work from home...and then windows pulls some bs like the one drive thing. All the sudden MS is sucking up school staff files cuz reasons.
