JGame parlours are a thing. Netcafe's are pretty much dead in india. Game parlours sort of bridge the accessibility gap somewhat
JBy game parlours I mean a place like net cafes but not strong emphasis on multiplayer games

Kwe had some places try netcafes here, but they failed hard. we've had good home internet for ages

JWe have good internets but not PCs to play games on. India is majority a phone gaming market
KFor all I know thats common here now, I'm too old to know and my kids have dumbphones until they're 13.
Kand even then they're gonna be locked down.
KI know what I did at that age, I don't need my kids doing that stuff. 
Kphone gaming for me is offline single player games. Currently playing FF9 and Potion Permit.
Wmy parents only ever had a pc (they didn't allow consoles and it was before smartphones), so that's how my interest in all things pc developed
JW parent moment. For some reasons parents here give their kids smartphones and after a couple yrs complain that the kids are addicted to the smartphone
KWe specifically chose to not do to 'toss a tablet at the kids to distract them' parenting thing.
Wlet them use a tool not a toy

Kthey both get PC time if they want to play games, but only my son really uses it.

JI had a supercomputer then. It was 500GB HDD, 512mb amd GPU with 4GB ram and 2 core cpu
KWhat's weird is, my daughter loves doing outdoor stuff, camping, hunting, my boy doesn't. He's a nerd and hates bugs, and bugs are outside.

KMan lol I could only wish at that time. Starting Xfree86 on 4mb RAM took like 5 mins.

KNo, I've basically mainly run Linux since 1993 or so. I have on occasion kept a windows PC for some games but stopped doing that once World of Warcraft started working semi-reliably in WINE, but I hate dual booting in general and won't do it.
KI'd rather just have a second device entirely if needed. Like, I own a Mac for work for instance, but it's ONLY for work.
Kironically, Wow works perfectly on Linux these days but I don't play it anymore. But I met my wife on it, so I guess it served it purpose
Aspeaking of mac, it would be great if handheld can use arm and get actually good battery life
