It's the repetition of work problem. I don't want to change my shell environment in multiple places manually
I haven't used containers that much yet, but ironically a lot of the stuff I want to use is primarily available via brew and not a package manager. I'm not sure how installing brew inside the container would work. Would it just create its own

it's the same for my Optimus laptap, I just use Hybrid and the apps are rendered on the NVIDIA. I think the integrated needs to keep active as it's used for the display output, at least in the case of my HP Probook 440 G5

It would be nice if I could just set up my .zshrc or whatever and then somehow have it always work inside containers with no fuss. Because really when I'm developing in a container, I am trying to isolate deps and files; I'm not trying to have a unique shell in there with its own utilities

I guess there's this concept I have of the shell as a window into the container, vs the shell as a program inside the container. My shell has a lot of customizations, and unfortunately I have to interact with the container via shell, but I can't use 'my' shell, I have to use its shell.
This makes sense when the container is this isolated thing meant to be shared and deployed... but it kind of doesn't make sense when the container is just a consequence of immutability, where it's being used to run services on the host and is tightly coupled
