Mnot sure if there are many situations where preloading something into swap would be meaningfully different from just loading it from the hard drive when you need it
Pcurrent console generation basically decided for us that using anything besides DMA streaming is ten year old practice

KWindows is not designed to have it's swap file disabled under any circumstance, neither is linux

Ni've got a weird issue: a few days ago i accidentally unplugged my usb sound card (soundblaster x3) and now everytime i start my computer the sound settings shows the adaptor but it doesn't produce any sound until i unplug the usb cable and plug it back in. dmesg doesn't tell me anything. y'all think that's the hardware itself or is there something else i could look at on my system to hunt down the issue?
