ASteam deck should work
LI managed to make it work it seems, plugged it in my dock with my monitor this time (mostly so i could read terminal) but then it magically went to the language select, so i unplugged and voilá
FGod, I'm tired of this, things don't work, games crash or have terrible bugs, applications are incompatible, errors all the time

UHey so I saw the new update is there for Ally.. I checked and mine is already on -deck as I have only installed the OS within the last week. So now I just run the update function within Steam system update menu? Or I need to do something in desktop mode?

Lseems so, it now boots straight into steam gaming mode when i restart so things seem good
SI am an active Bazzite user on my laptop, do you recommend Bazzite for steam deck too? Also does the controller (joysticks and buttons) work the same way like on Steam OS when using the desktop mode?
PAre you on Nvidia? Try disabling GPU acceleration on the settings.

Lright now it seems the install is borked so i don't recommend it at this moment, this is my first time trying the os at all sooooo i can give you a review later on 
Si had problems with the instal on my laptop too, so what i did was install Fedora Kionite and rebased the thing
Laah, fair. I just went into rescue to try and see if i can get it to boot into kde, but upon rebooting (and forgetting to go back into rescue) it kinda just ended up working with an external monitor plugged in.
And.. as with any os install on a steam deck, a dock you can plug a usb and a keyboard in at the same time is pretty much mandatory

PI'd try it anyway. Disable GPU acceleration and restart steam.
FAnother problem

H- there's going to be a new steam deck when valve announce it, until then it's just pointless rumours

Ai've always thought the Deck is a bad Linux machine, but a good SteamOS machine
Atrying to install generic distros have always had some sort of gotcha or quirk on the Deck, SteamOS was the only distro that actually worked for a very long time

Athe Legion Go is a better Linux machine, it basically worked off a vanilla fedora kernel from day 1 lol
RTho it does not have FreeDOS/No OS variant and only have Windows version

Ayes, but usually "most devices" ship with Windows, so no surprises there. But it not working well on a supposed Linux-only device is a bit more annoying
Athat being said, I don't necessarily think it's a problem or anything.
AI think the Deck is an awesome device, it's really helped linux gaming

UHey some feedback - if I change audio to the Family option which seems to be the fixed one, every shutdown or restart changes it back to Rog Ally option. It won’t hold that setting for some reason.
KWhat's your issue with the ROG Alyl output?
UAudio seems distorted at high volumes.. system sounds for example seem to reverberate the shell.
UFamily option is more tinny for sure, but that reduced bass is what’s stopping it from reverberating. If Rog Ally option has the bass toned down just a little it would probably be ideal.
EAll of these TWENTY controllers are connected to my Bazzite HTPC and Steam cant handle it as you can see. Beyond 16 controllers it starts struggling
