I think that is specifically for cases where you are adding a record for a single subdomain, rather than a wildcard

Custom Domains give you a free certificate, I think are more efficient by some margin because all routes need to be eval'd on each request, and custom domains are simpler, but both are an option for a reason

I tried having

Is there an option to pre-install Wrangler? What is the best practice here? What am I doing wrong?

having trouble logging in via wrangler CLI in Github Codespaces. Is it not possible to run wrangler in Github Codespaces? I run 'npm wrangler login' and get a link and an error "[WARNING] Failed to open". The link will return back to a localhost error. Any help for this newb is appreciated.

nevermind, got it working, had to add my Cloudflare Account ID and an API Token to Githubs 'Codespace user secretes'. works almost flawlessly now, just need to manually correct the port number in the generated url after running 'npm run dev'. hope this helps anyone running into the same issue. (source: https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/wrangler/ci-cd/#api-token)

If this is the right place to leave Wrangler feedback, I found it aggravating that for the 3 methods below, you must specify names to them differently in order to end up with the same final resource name:

bunx wrangler d1 create mysite-staging
bunx wrangler r2 bucket create mysite-staging
bunx wrangler kv:namespace create staging

bunx wrangler d1 create mysite-staging
bunx wrangler r2 bucket create mysite-staging
bunx wrangler kv:namespace create staging

d1 and r2 behave consistently with each other and use the name provided: e.g.

kv is inconsistent with these and automatically preprends the name property from

This inconsistency worsens the DX from what it could be.

Is there a way to prevent

auto-upgrading to the latest minor version? I understand that, in a lot of cases, it's completely safe to use the latest minor as it's non-breaking.

However, if you're writing documentation or something more static than dev work, and want to reference the flow of this command, it effectively breaks that - and perhaps you're using X and it gets removed in future.

In my particular case, it's going to go into printed material, and I've been using

2.21.1

where the initial list of options is a long-ish list - now it's been tidied up to be into categories with the lists behind. This means anywhere this command is used needs rewriting to account for the new options - not a large amount of work - but if this happens again it then means the printed material would come across wrong, which would be fixed by pinning the version, but it refuses to run without upgrading to the latest minor.

Experienced the same. If I have worker A calling worker B, B needs to start before A. This makes it a bit complicated in a monorepo setup with a single dev command starting all workers as separate packages, but https://github.com/vercel/turbo/issues/1497#issuecomment-1424852247 gave me a workaround

That if i understand correctly will just make kv-assets-handler that is part of worker sites unnecessary. If each worker has 'assets' associated, then you can just use that like on CF-Pages (that already has the assets binding on functions). That means that features like Gradual deployments will just work. Today you cant use Gradual deployments with worker sites because KV is always pointing to the last version.

BTW, I'm still using Worker Sites today. Way more convenient to me, but I'm looking forward to that merge happens to avoid pay for static assets distribution like on we have on Pages, and stop with the pollution my logs with assets requests. Couple assets with a specific worker deployment will make a huge difference for me, the "rollback" will actually work as intended.

It seems like this merge is more about giving Workers the 'abilities' of Pages (and unifying the Dashboard front-end) than giving Pages Functions all the Worker capabilities (which is what I was hoping for).
