Hif you need BPM for the controller support just launch it from the gamemode menu (the steamdeck ui) its the same as BPM but way better and more functions
Tbut i never had controller issues outside of the pc port of psychonauts

Agames in desktop mode shouldn't require bpm to get controllers to work.
