Ffor example, for every distrobox I like to give it it's own HOME dir, but if I just ssh into the PC regularly, then the HOME dir will be my own HOME dir, and vscode will use that dir for config and extensions and stuff

Goh I made that issue a while ago, vanillaOS was doing something similar with integrating the updater into Gnome settings. IIRC Gnome has a built in framework for doing so? If it requires patching of KDE settings it may not be worth pursuing
GI'll probably update the issue but an update GUI probably isn't the highest priority atm
