At least they have some advantage on that part if they truthfully honor their words. But yeah it's WW and the price is quite unusually low so we'll have to see..
Also they almost certianly won't support grips from other brands which could be a problem.

A device that may have an open airplane-specific flight deck area, or an enclosed airplane-specific flight deck; generic aerodynamic programming; at least one operating system; and control loading that is representative of the simulated airplane only at an approach speed and configuration. All displays may be flat/LCD panel representations or actual representations of displays in the aircraft. Primary and secondary flight controls (e.g., rudder, aileron, elevator, flaps, spoilers/speed brakes, engine controls, landing gear, nosewheel steering, trim, brakes) must be physical controls. yeah that minimum requirement is not fancy I know..I was just saying they have gained some, hopefully better know-how over some of the competitors, from building their C172 and DA40 FTD for Civil Aviation Flight University of China..like knowing what data is needed, how to get and process them, what needs to be simulated(for example, breakout force), and some other details needed to be taking care of(not for software but for example, how high the control needs to be mounted/mounting solution ). I mean, the simulation side of experience should be better than that of their other software..but who knows, it's aft all ww

I would assume that is a DCS problem specific to Apache, because in other multicrew aircraft I flew lately, I didn’t have the slightest issues switching seats (namely C-101 and Mi-8).

Corrected my issue.

Turns out my dumb ass reversed an axis in dcs and not in the VPF software, creating an equal but opposite pitch reaction in the stick FFB/DCS.
It is now corrected and seems to be working as intended.

Question someone had in Reddit about how the Rhino works in Flight Simulator 2020.

“In regards to AutoPilot operation IRL you wouldn't see the stick move once the AP is on, but the system is constantly trimming for a constant state. So does it replicate this as when it's time to click off the AP the aircraft is trimmed to neutral like a regular stick would be too? New question: can the Force Trim function be used to apply stick trim in pitch only to the DCS P-51 (or other warbird), in order to get stick following trim effect? My idea is to apply it only to pitch and not use the regular DCS pitch trim. Guess I'll have to give it a try - IRL I fly Pawnees and gliders where the stick position is a strong indicator of trim setting in pitch, and the lack of stick movement with trim in the P-51 is really annoying.

For DCS, I think you should be able to use the "override trim" function in configurator. It sort of acts like a sticky for the hardware trim hat bindings that are configrued. Just be aware that by moving the physical axis, all of that movement will be translated into virtual movement of the axis as well (probably making the "trim" way too sensitive).

I can‘t tell from the top of my head, but I would be very surprised if it didn’t. Only fly-by-wire jets don’t physically move the stick with trim as far as I‘m aware of.

And how does Adaptive Recentering fit in? My test is to setup an out of trim condition: slow, hold stick aft to maintain speed and altitude. Then trim aft to get rid of aft pull needed to hold speed/alt. Stick should not move, but trim should remove pressure until it will stay at trimmed position when released. This obviously cannot be done with a basic spring stick.

And from personal experience you really have to lean on the stick to get them going fast downhill! I have had the stick trimmed fully forward in a Pawnee trying to get it down at close to Vne, and the stick is WAY forward! Sure it's not a P-51 (I wish) but the basics are the same.

Adaptive recentering (and "balance spring") are features of the rhino that work to keep the stick centered when hands off (wherever the center might be, since it can move), particularly when a heavy grip and/or offset extension cause the stick to drag off center.

The trim following you are talking about is a function of the "spring" FFB effect. When you adjust the trim, the center point moves, which physically moves the stick. Adaptive recentering will help keep the stick in the exact spring center when you let go.

AFAIK, most warbirds in DCS support tirm following (at least for elevator axis)

I tried it in C185 which is the only aircraft I have flown which trims stabilizer. The yoke always ended up roughly in the same position when trimmed to different speeds. I think ”Probably only very slightly if anything…” is probably quite close.
