I always felt that sims are mainly harder to fly (on a regular 2D) monitor due to the lack of depth perception and gut feeling for acceleration. Judging a flight path on final approach (without gimmicks like a HUD and flight path marker) or hovering a helicopter e.g. ...I have no real life flying experience whatsoever though. So maybe I'm completely wrong.
