I was also thinking about the cost of including library's code which needs to be parsed and run, and well a dependency is a dependency you need to maintain. But I see your point.

Are my API functions being scanned?

Im looking out the Real time logs for my pages functions and i see random api calls to endpoints that do not exisit such as:
/api/liferay
/api/users/admin/check
so many other randoms..
and despite not having any functions there, cloudflare returns a 200 OK?
are these cloudflare pings? or what are they?
my guess is that all routes to /api/* are allowed but if function does not exist it should block or not pass through...
any help much appreicated

Check if you have a 404.html. If not then Pages will assume SPA mode and will always serve an index.html even for not found routes.

I checked workers routes under domains to see if the cloudflare function would be present there for this domain and its not. Not sure if a lot of additional config needs to happen but the cf function is currently up and running

I'll follow up on my old message lol -- I can't see fail closed under Workers Routes, or any worker even available under workers routes, because we're using cf functions which technically isn't an isolated worker?

I can add the route but it doesn't matter since worker is none regardless -- theres nothing to match to it and indicate whether to fial open/fail close

Hi, I'm trying to build a full-stack application with Pages and Functions. My framework is Angular. I've added a functions folder, and I have a single route currently, however when I send a request to that route it returns the Angular app HTML rather than the expected response.

Do clients continue to have their requests routed to the existing worker version somehow or does all traffic get re-routed immediately? Latter. All future requests immediately hit the new version. If you want some sort of skew protection (similar to https://vercel.com/blog/version-skew-protection but not Vercel-specific) then you'll need to use a framework that provides that built-in.

@Isaac McFadyen Thanks for the example. If I'm not mistaken thats not quite the same as the Vercel link. SvelteKit just seem to be using the version to decide whether they should reload the app or not. By contrast Vercel seem to be tracking the function version that the app is served from so that any subsequent requests can be made in a way that they get routed to the same function. Even if this can be handled at a framework level, I would expect that within the pages function that serves the app initially, you would need to access the id of the function(and consequently the preview url) so that you had a way to force the routing of subsequent requests.

So yeah, when I linked to Vercel's link I just meant that that's the kind of feature you're looking for. But you'll likely need to do a full reload—I don't believe (although I might be wrong) that assets from a past deployment will be available on Pages once you've pushed a new version, so you'll likely need to reload the page.

yeah, I think as long as you had the preview url for the current deployment you could work around that by using the preview url as your base url for everything after the initial load(although you might not want to expose that url). With that said, look's like you need the version metadata api to get the deployment id which is not currently available in pages functions by the looks. Thanks for your help.

Bit of a beginner's question, but how do I use pages plugins? My site is static, so no node or wrangler or anything. I have a script that runs in the build, but currently no workers or functions. If I add

the build fails trying to import the package, but I'm not sure where the packages for functions are meant to be set up The docs say using wrangler.toml will likely overwrite settings that I have in the dashboard, which I'd prefer to avoid. Can I specify plugins from the dashboard? Or if not, is there a specific location where I should put package requirements for functions, rather than a general application sort of build? Thanks

Do workers not support Mongodb driver as its based on v8.. The docs say to use Realm-Web (sdk) but it looks like a dated article, as i hear that library is now deprecated.. its been a few months, could cf update the doc to reflect that mongodb drivers are no longer support natively?
