Why are users needing or getting a motor recalibration and how would I know if I need it?
HWhen you don't know if you need it - you don't need it.
HSometimes the motors act up - and Walmis can usually fix that remotely - but if you don't encounter any problems. Don't worry.
OAny idea what the the wait time is going to be like for Virpil FLNKR compatibility?

FAnyone ever had this issue with the 86 motors with adaptive recentering overshooting and not being able to find the center? Once it starts it won't stop unless it's completely shut down or recalibrated or sometimes I have to put the stick dead center and hold it for a few seconds and this only stops it temporarily. After some use it comes back. Luckily when using a game with TelemFFB on this issue goes away and works as expected. Once the sim is closed and TelemFFB is not in use it comes back. Since I always use TelemFFB this isn't an issue. Just annoying haha.
FHSounds as if you dampening is to low. Try to adjust the adaptive dampening (right side of the settings screen). Spring proportional dampening or smething like that it is called…..
FSpring strength proportional dampening is at 100%. This issue doesn't happen all the time and TelemFFB fixes it when running and in use.
FI've only been able to recreate it semi consistently by bumping the stick lightly a few times to where the position is just to the edge of the centering circle in the screen. Then when it tries to center it it overshoots the center and that behavior starts.
RAre you using hard limiter or software limiters. WHen is the last time you calibrated? THis is very interesting.
FFHere is a video of me recreating it. It works just fine until I do the light jumping then the oscillation grows gradually until it reaches the maximum shown in my first video. No software limiters.
RWhat is your static force or balance spring set at if using?

FSettings and you can see the maximum oscillation to the left of the centering circle.
ROne more thing, are you positive you don't have something ingame bound to these axis, like vr hand controller or similar. I have had this happen and I chased this for days.

FEffects settings. Nothing is bound to the axis and nothing running in the background. The original rhino I have with the 57 motors does not have the issue with similar settings except balance spring is different due to the lack of extension.

FAnd lastly here is a video of it being fixed temporarily by making a few circles and leaving it centered by hand.

TI would guess your spring is too low. In effects tab change all spring to 100%. And set slider at 50% in settings tab
TYour current settings are giving less force than stock rhino.
FMy current settings give me way more force than the stock rhino actually but I'll try and see if setting max spring takes care of the issue.
FOk I did some testing. Setting the springs to 100% in both the effects tab and the setting tab fixes the issue. So you are right. Adaptive recentering is needing more spring strength to work correctly.
FLuckily with TelemFFB it doesn't need that much strength. It works perfectly with my original settings.
TAt 100% on spring your monster rhino is 1.7x the stock. You have limited it to 49% of that
T70% in effects tab and 70% setting slider multiply
FI'm haven't done any numbers on strength. Just telling you what I can feel through my arm 
FBut you are right. Spring strength fixes the issue. I'll remember that if I ever need to use it without TelemFFB running.
TYou have a shorter extension and are running slightly less than stock, so it might just feel stronger due to the extension
FIn the original rhino I had the spring gain dialed back to avoid overheating so your numbers are probably right.

TNo problem, I would recommend keeping effects tabs at 100 and tuning via sliders but your preference may vary
Nremember that the settings here only apply when no game (or telemffb) have started their own spring effect. Those values only apply to the default spring effect that is started when using the base as "just a joystick".
TFor Monster Rhino: with 100% set for spring in effects tab, 59% on spring slider in settings tab will be equivalent to standard Rhino.
FNow I'm curious to see what percentage of spring strength starts to show the issue.
FAnyway. I'll probably leave it to 100% so it doesn't annoy me when I'm not using TelemFFB
TIf I remember correctly the grip you have is really heavy so you may have some negative inertia effects playing against you. More damping or some friction may help.
TYour damping is set very low
TAlso your sliders for inertia and friction aren’t doing anything because they are turned off in effects.
FJust for the fun of it I am making out all sliders one by one. Right now it's oscillating even with full spring and dampening effects.
FNevermind. Dampening helps getting rid of the issue.

TModified gain maps for damping, that make it change quickly near the center, have also caused oscillations for me.
