Yes, the Pi is supported by the Yocto Project.
You need to include the meta-raspberry-pi layer from https://git.yoctoproject.org/meta-raspberrypi
In your local.conflocal.conf file, set the MACHINE variable to to one of the machines listed in meta-raspberry-pi/conf/machine
I would then also highly recommend enableing the UART by adding the following line to local.conflocal.conf
ENABLE_UART = "1"ENABLE_UART = "1"
For other options, such as enabling SPI, Video4Linux, etc, checkout the page

As for OpenOCD - there is already a recipe for it

To see if there is a recipe for something, go to
https://layers.openembedded.org/layerindex/branch/master/recipes/
Search for the software name - in this case openocd, and if there is a known recipe, it will give you the details.

OpenOCD is supported by meta-openembedded (which is probably the second set of layers most people should be installing after Poky!)

Start with something small like Arduino and then move to STM32/ESP32. I suggest buying an MCU dev board and following some YT videos. Get the basic peripheral working and interfacing sensors & actuators. Also, check the event section in the server to learn more about embedded s/w development. The episodes of engineering hours will surely help you.

Amazing! appreciate if you share with us in the community how long RPi5 + AI Hat lasts on such portable batteries. I always powered them using a dedicated power supply or an adaptor.
