How to Show WHEP Stream in React App?

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to display a video stream in my React app using a WHEP URL. Here's what I've attempted so far:

Used the ReactPlayer library to load the WHEP URL:

Tried using the <video> element directly with the WHEP URL, but it didn't work.

Could someone help me figure out the correct way to display this stream in my React app? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

I've had this happen maybe once or twice after dozens of streams, but not for any reason that would stand out. I always have a backup recording earlier in my pipeline

I've seen the error for all of my test streams. Unable to get any recording to encode and save. I read somewhere online that it may be related to lack of metadata.

Might I ask your technique for middle-manning a recording process in the stream chain? @1984 Ford Laser

I use AWS Medialive for stream compositing, which is capable of exporting a rrecording to S3. There will also be a recording on the device doing the streaming, so usually 3 copies at minimum

You could also re-stream to a private YT stream key for a simple free solution (haven't tested tbh)

I worked extensively with AWS MediaLive and IVS services with low-latency and LL-HLS. They advertised 1 - 2 second latency, but I discovered that HLS latency was different based on the browser and device type you watched from. Spent hours making my own transcoding servers only to find out, regardless of my efforts, the playback from RTMP -> HLS was beyond my control for latency adjustment. I have a feeling all HLS operates like this per device type. webRTC is the way to go for real-time 200ms latency. Consistency in all scenarios.

^ HLS (and LL-HLS) is very much device-dependent because the protocol leaves it entirely up to the device on when/how to fetch each chunk, whereas WebRTC actually sends the device the current content so it must keep up

If you were doing custom WebRTC that's likely because the browser (if not properly set) will use as much bandwidth as it possibly can.

I'm trying to troubleshoot an occasional issue where a viewer may see a prolonged "black screen" when attempting to connect or reconnect to a live webRTC stream using a WHEP client. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this type of issue and has some input on how to prevent or resolve such issues. (I am using TURN server in the peer connection process) Thanks!

You use the dashboard for setting up webhooks on videos, and use the API for setting up webhooks for streams (or vice versa, I can't remember). I don't think the docs contain this distinction anywhere, could be deeply hidden

Cloudlare delay in streaming is atrocious

Sometimes it is more than 1 minute 30 seconds via obs. Even tweaking all the settings it’s just utter garbage compare to other streaming providers

When will they fix this ? People are not using your live stream to broadcast TV channels, we are in real time streaming error, maybe cloudflare product team didn’t get the memo yet

it seems like my I paid $5 for Stream and It just Free plan that why I can just use email for webhook, It stated that if I'm in zones on a Free plan, i must has at least one zone in Professional plan or higher.

Webhooks for Stream are included in the normal Stream subscription according to here: https://developers.cloudflare.com/notifications/notification-available/#stream

When I set up a new notification for Stream, the screenshot is what I see, and I add my own URL for webhook
