Hi all - I am looking at Image Transforms and it seems powerful and easy to use however I am a little confused about whether the paid version provides a bit more "CDN" as while the image is nicely compressed it loads slower than my normal server.

Hello, I registered my domain on Cloudflare and want to connect it with Builderall. The problem is that the option to change the name server doesn't appear. The bot tells me that to access this option, I need a paid plan, but I currently have the free one. If I had known that a paid plan was required to do this, I wouldn't have purchased it on this platform.

Can someone help me with this to see if I can do it without upgrading my plan or provide me with an alternative solution?

The paid version of Images Transformations isn't going to be any faster, "slower then normal server" is a bit vague though. If you're accessing it on /cdn-cgi/ path of your website, and your website is free/free routing, you might be going to a data center far away. Are you comparing image transformations to your unproxied web server, or proxied through Cloudflare? Image Transformations also get cached (see response headers), so should be pretty quick after first req

Cloudflare Registrar does not support you using anything but Cloudflare nameservers (Business plan's Custom Nameservers are just vanity names/let you have nameservers like ns1.yourdomain.com, but still are just Cloudflare DNS).
To use third party hosting, it's not required on a technical level to change your nameservers, just add a/aaaa/cname records. I'd explore if your host lets you add a custom domain/your website without changing nameservers

Thanks for replying. I am accessing it on /cdn-cgi/ and I am on free version. I got no issues paying just dont want to sign up to test the speed. I am comparing on my proxied site. An image served from the server using norma src="/images/test.webp" for eample and then an image using /cdn-cgi/. 80 ms for the /cdn-cgi/ version. 70ms from my normal one. The end-result for us is that a “new” request to transform an image that Cloudflare has never seen before takes about ~500ms. A request to get a transformed image Cloudflare has seen, but at a new size, takes about ~150ms. And a request to get an image that Cloudflare has already served up at the size you want takes ~9ms. never seen before - no hit on origin/raw image cache, no hit on transformations cache
new size : origin/raw image cache, not on transformations
full hit: mostly just network time (how far is the Cloudflare location you're connecting to)

Are you using Cloudflare Tunnel? The

Your DNS cache, try searching "how to clear DNS cache" because it's specific to your operating system.
