Breath of fire
Hi there I have been using heroic for some time but I brought breath of fire form gog but when I boot the game it say play then close I have the ge proton 9.27 running to anyone have a solution

CThat'll be fun, looks like the game is trying to use a very old version of D3D0154:fixme:d3d:state_linepattern_w Setting line patterns is not supported in OpenGL core contexts.
SThat's the log with logs enabled i seen people online it works for them by just forcing the game to ge 9.27 gog just released it today

Breath of Fire 4 has officially been released on GOG thanks to their preservation program, and it runs quite nicely on the Steam Deck with some changes.
CCould you head to the Wine Manager in Heroic & check whether there is an Update icon next to GE-Proton-latest?
CIf that isn't there, you should be using GE-Proton-9.27
SI Tryed Both ge proton ge latest and ge 9.27 boy have the same released date to
CYeah -latest is just "Whatever the latest version is". It's there so you can easily update your Proton version without having to manually re-set it for each game
CSo both of them are 9.27
SOk I will set to that for updates just bummed the game isn't working for me

NThings I would try:
- Enable umu. Check and uncheck the box for Disable umu
- Install
d3dcompiler_43 and 47
NThe original release apparently used 7 while the GOG one has a min req of 9
CYeah there's a wrapper shipped with the game (according to PCGW), but if that wrapper would be working you'd see DXVK log messages
CIn cases like this it's usually best to look at the game yourself, it's really easy to miss something small while doing "remote support" like this. Like, maybe we're not running the setup steps for the game correctly, or there's some DLL override required

NPaste it without the quotes into the left and it’ll format it to what it should be. The variable is in all caps and belongs on the left
SPut WINEDLLOVERRIDES in the variable name then put ddraw=n,b;dinput=n,b in the value
