Why was evdi dropped in F42?

Is there a reason why evdi was dropped in F42. The Commit just says "Temporarily drop evdi". I know someone that uses Bazzite with a DisplayLink USB C Dock and they upgraded now to F42 just finding it be broken. I already rolled back for F41 with them.
Just curious why it was dropped and when we could expect it to be coming back?

Ah okay perfect thanks! On a different note. They used

rpm-ostree rollback

and after a reboot it started F41. But running

They may want to rebase to an older image instead. They can rebase back to stable when evdi is added back in. More info can be found here: https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/Updates_Rollbacks_and_Rebasing/bazzite_rollback_helper/#rebasing-to-an-older-bazzite-image

just be aware that rebasing to an older version means no update whatsoever, that includes security updates. Be sure to rebase back to stable as soon evdi is added back in.

Rebasing from 42 to 41 aren't possible cuz upstream bug

I made a custom image for myself for a couple of the bazzite image types https://github.com/opdude/blue-build-evdi-images maybe this is useful as a workaround until this goes back into main. Seemed to work for my dell dock but it's possible there is more needed for a complete solution. (Hopefully isn't against any rules to post the image here

)
