Total newbie wants to stylemaxx
Hey everybody new here. I've no idea about style but I would like to stylemaxx because investing in clothes will elevate my confidence (I already have a solid foundation) and impact in a more meaningful way to others. I think its very important in life and I'm willing to start investing on it.
I have a budget of 300 euros.
23 M from Spain. I can give more details about my physical structure if you wish. Thank you in advance everybody and staff for making this space happen.
I'm a total newbie and really wear the clothes my mum bought in the day. So keep that in mind.

i don't think you're going to get the traditional advice on stylemaxxing here and frankly i don't think it may be really necessary
what clothes do you wear currently? what issues do you have with the clothes - lack of style, not fitting well, falling apart, etc?
what kind of outfits in your opinion look cool? check #waywt-highlights https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1353047724303585340 #inspiration or elsewhere online
^a lot of fashion is identifying what you like, and why you like it i’m always a little apprehensive towards calling anything “maxxing” because those communities often prey on insecurity and we don’t tolerate that here
beyond clothes, find things that aren't clothes that you like doing and do them. check #interests and the topics in there as a primer
you are still fairly young, and a lot of what gives people confidence is in having and dealing with life experiences - to see what they like and what they value
also check out #fashion-guides ! theres some useful stuff there
if you think there's an issue with your clothes, being specific about it is the most helpful thing.
if other people think there's an issue with your clothes (aside from the clothes being offensive) then that's their opinion; i'm not a fan of shaming people about their appearance especially to get people to buy things, which usually happens with stylemaxxing
I currently wear whatever my mum bought years ago. The first thing I pick from the wardrobe. I lack style and I don't feel comfortable with them.
I appreciate the channels you shared. I will definitely check them out.
Appreciate it, will definitely check it out.
okay but what are they?
t-shirts? button downs? polos? khakis?
i can sympathize with not being comfortable in the clothes someone else bought for you but it's harder for someone else to say "buy [x, y and z]" if they don't know what things you already dislike
Look, this is my frame.

chopped bc of the scoliosis.
No, I'm confident in myself. I just want to improve.
Forget about the hair and the beard. I know I have to go and 'groom' it. I will get a haircut and italian beard style today.
Classic haircut.
honestly the hair and beard look fine
when it comes to those things its more about styling them/getting them cut the way you like, not the way you think others will like
Yeah, its the way I like.
It was never about others, it was about myself. I just pointed out that clothes also have a positive impact on others.
Or at least that's how I view it.
i mean even if they didn't i'd still wear what i want to wear lol
Right, lets forget about the 'others' 😂
It was never meant to be a topic of discussion
I already have the mindset. I just want some guide. I'm seeing in #fashion-guides some messages. Lets see if I see something of interest.

and above all else just remember that this takes time
Stylemaxxing also implies there is one metric that you have to max out
While it's more important to find out what you like and how to dress in a way that suits you well, which is more complicated than maxxing a stat
So what don't you like about this fit?
Well, everything. I want my casual fit to be like idk how to explain it.
Like normal but good.
Do you have pictures of other people you think dress well?
Normal and good mean different things to different people
Kind of. I asked in another server and my answer was this:

You know the vibe you want to give off but struggle to put looks together to express it –super frustrating. Maybe your wardrobe is chaotic with too many
Right. Its not a good term to use. I gave this other example.
The thing is you aren't going to be able to create an entire wardrobe with 300 euros, unless you're keeping it extremely small and dedicating a lot of time to find steals on secondhand items.
That's part of why you can't really rush this.
Yeah. I see clothes are so expensive. From what I've seen only that jacket can be around that price or more.
I've realized people spend like 2k a month on clothes. Its really a big numbers collectors game and rn I cant afford it. But I want to start now.
It's better to see it as the start of a journey that will take a while than on buying a completely new wardrobe in one time
You can find cheaper workwear jackets, the vintage carhartt ones are really expensive now but if you like that look you could check on vinted for dickies jackets
Vinted is great in the eu
If you wanted a canvas work jacket for example, you could search for a dickies jacket and probs get one for 20-30 euros
Abercrombie sale section website might be up your street as well
Good to know, I will keep that in mind.
Some do, but a lot of the best dressed people spend a lot less by buying second hand and being incredibly focused about what they buy. But getting to the point you can do that takes practice and time and having a view about what you're aiming for.
These all look basically the same aside from having a couple of different items highlighted. Maybe you could get some light wash jeans on Vinted - that seems a common item in lots of these.
@tun🌻 I heard vinted is full of scammers though. Tbf I dont believe men out there 😂
Is it an exaggeration?
Well it depends what you want to buy
If you want a vintage carhartt jacket, yeah prepare to get scammed
But no one will sell fake dickies
If something is normally very expensive and you can get it for cheap on vinted, it's probably too good to be true
But you don't need to buy clothes that are expensive or often replicated, there is plenty of nice stuff on vinted for good prices
Good to know
So if you like workwear and leather jackets, a natural next step would be pants. Denim works well with both, so maybe look for some nice jeans that you like. Although you might want to consider your climate, wearing jeans in a Spanish summer is not ideal for most people
And after that maybe look at what kind of tops and shoes you like. Do you want to look at more workwear inspired stuff or rather something else?
And I still think it would help if you gather pictures of things you like
most people do not spend 2000 on clothes per month
also any article trying to tell you to do “starboy fashion” is at best trendy and uninformed and at worst trying to sell you shit you don’t need or an aspirational vibe rooted in the idea that you can become more attractive if you just buy the “right” clothes without considering fit or what feels authentic to you
I will seeing things and I feel stuck or have doubts I will reach out to you @tijelu Appreciate your help and time.
i cannot say this loudly enough but many of the best dressers in this history of this community spend very little on clothes
please learn your measurements based on clothes you already own and it’ll make buying clothes secondhand much easier
to address a problem that i will not let fly:
you forwarded a link from the looksmaxxing discord. looksmaxxing sucks.
it’s misogynistic, predatory, ableist incel bullshit weaponized by a charlatans posing as influencers to sell you shit you don’t need & a worldview that does more harm than good

Ok, it wasant my intention to share that 'looksmaxxing link'. It was the first search i found on the internet when i searched for 'stylemaxxing'.
if you don’t know what looksmaxxing is then i’m happy for you, i’m not trying to be hostile towards you specifically as much as i am extremely hostile towards that entire ideology
Yeah i agree it sucks
No, I know what it is. And I have a different view on it from the view you have. But I can surely follow the rules from this server and stay away from talking about it in here.
More like 'mention it'.
In any way or shape.
hm
nah
:banned: @Pa_u_los has been banned from mfad! :banned:
no
yeah
Oops
i do try to save the incels from themselves
sometimes
I dont know if they want to be saved
ah well
can't believe he got told "maxxing culture prays on insecurities" and went "I hold a different view" lol
Looksmaxxing is a plague
Doesn’t realize he himself is insecure
Hope those folks can find the confidence and heal someday
It’s not even just incels, this sort of discourse has been forced on young folks on social media for years
manosphere bullshit has cooked hundreds of millions of men we are so fucked
Real
Social media and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race
:nooooo:
Lol I left for work he was just normal talking I got to work, opened my phone which happened to be the thread and he was banned
Incredible
man i was so hopeful
this is what i get for working
never log off
i actually thought looksmaxxing was general internet toxic stuff and didn't realise it comes from incels, so thanks for educating me on that
it's one of those words that I could believe breached containment and might get used for more tame stuff or by people who don't realize or intend that connection. but the concept itself is fundamentally rooted in incel ideology and people perpetuate that whether they intend to or not by participating in it.
which is why it can be good to try and be like "hey that shit sucks don't do it" but if someone embraces the incel-ey stuff like this guy, then they've shown their hand
yeah makes total sense
yeah
makes me a little sad tbh
it is sad
like a lot of these guys start as deeply insecure kids who never get the chance to grow out of those insecurities because they get manipulated into adopting a totally fucked worldview
oh I didn’t see he was in the looksmaxxing discord
did it pop up in mutual servers
Yes
I’m like a chaser for incels
I’m gonna stop this bit now
yeah and its ofc totally fine when ur 23 and you realise you want to be more confident and dress well, but before you know it they're talking about fucking carnal tilts or whatever
i no longer am a fan of this bit
wait I have a better bit
I go there to pick up chasers and break their incel hearts
uh
ok we’re done close the thread pls
some of them just suffer from desperately needing to touch grass and talk to a person
WHY IS EVERYONE DOING STARBOY FASHION
the only 3 times i’ve heard of it are on this wretched server
And all in the past week
what the fuck is starboy
yeah what even is starboy fashion
That one weeknd song with the daft punk
i googled it and it looks sick ngl gonna make a fourth q&a about it
Oh wait I said that as a joke
Just googled it
That’s actually where it’s from
:xd:
:bruh:

oh
Bleaching my eyeballs brb
is it just like
andrew tate if he dressed better core
No surprise the incel wanted it then
