TrueNAS setup v1.9.5 missing datasets in setup

Hi, I was hoping to setup Immich on TrueNAS Community Edition. Latest version is 1.9.5 and was following this guide: https://immich.app/docs/install/truenas

According to the guide, 7 datasets are needed. When I go and install Immich in TrueNAS it shows only 3 storage configs:

Data Storage (aka Upload Location)
Machine Learning Cache
Postgres Data Storage

Is the setup process simplefied? I remember seeing all 7 datasets in the setup a few months ago. Currently trying to see if I can make it work like this, but curious if others did the setup with this version.

do you use scale or core?

i am using scale and i am using the template and got all the datasets
maybe update your catalog?

if you use core, know that support for jail catalog will be dropped if i remember correctly

Okay, I got it working now. Had some incorrect permissions. As I mentioned in the intro, there are only 3 datasets to configure. The 'Data Storage' one contains the following folders: backups, encoded-video, library, profile, thumbs, upload.

Not sure how this impacts performance. I have the DB running on NVMe, but the data storage is on the HDD's. Before there was more customization what to have where, but the setup is quicker this way.

I used the template, you create datasets yourself

There are 7/8 path entries which you can use in the default scale template depending on if you count postgres

Aaah yes I see, then I have all the options... Since it seems to be "deprecated" now, I would say that the way forward for new installs is only 3 storage options.

Worked for me in the end @Sivs. Not sure if you still need to setup the netdata user as the owner of the DB folder, but that is what I did for now still based on the documentation...

Ive added "apps" to a group that has permission to any dataset it needs, however still getting issues, I checked the container log and I get this

Thank you guys, the issue was I should of setup the each dataset using the dataset preset and used "apps" it just simplified the permission. I'm very much a noob in this world. At the time I was tried a way that was not right haha @Cirkon

You can also create a dataset and create folders inside

Like create on your high speed storage the dataset appdata

Put all your apps there in folders

Like appdata/immich/etc

you dont need datasets for each folder

You can, you just have to use additional storage
Mount path should be the same, but you have to chose the correct host path
