Launching Proton Games in Big Picture
My specific use-case scenario:
I'm running bazzite-deck as a living room 'console' experience, trying to exclusively use Steam's big picture mode as a front-end.
I've got Heroic all setup and working, added games to steam. Some have worked out of the box, others have worked when launching directly through Heroic but crash when launching through Steam/BP.
I couldn't find anything in the docs or wiki, but I'd like some clarification on the best general settings & guidelines to use for this. Should I enable Steam Runtime as a default? Mangohud & gamescope are installed along with bazzite, should I be configuring them at all in Heroic, seeing as they're being launched from a gamescope compositor session by default?
Would like to get a sane baseline config before I start changing individual games' proton/wine/launch settings.

Would like to get a sane baseline config before I start changing individual games' proton/wine/launch settings.Heroic's default settings are that baseline. It already auto-configures itself according to your hardware You shouldn't have to enable "Use Steam Runtime" anymore, umu replaces it now (and is enabled by default) Send in a game log of one of the problematic games, then we can look into that further. Usually if a game isn't working, it does require game-specific workarounds, so there's no general answer one can give you here

Understood. I was testing with Shadow of Mordor, from Epic. Had to set PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 and change to GE-proton8 just to get it to launch in Heroic.
When launching with Steam, it just has Steam's animated placeholder, but never launches a new gamescope compositor or anything, just fails to launch and returns to the game's library page
