Apple TV+ keeps pumping out pretty good stuff overall. There’s a few misses but mostly hits.
My personal all time favorites though are Mad Men, True Detective Season 1 and a German/Austrian Co-Production called “Der Pass/Pagan Peak”

There are so many good shows its hard to not have a little recency bias
I loved the pitt so much that i basically just put it on in any free moment and glued my eyes to the tv until it was done
Favorite things I watched in the past year were garth marenghi’s darkplace and peep show both of those had me transfixed
Game of Thrones if you can pretend the last 3 seasons didnt happen

also the new show is really good

With how bad the last few seasons are supposed to be is it worth starting the first 5?
Absolutely
its so good
I've done a few rewatches and they're always worth it
Even if the quality dips after season 5/6 a little
and if you like the first few seasons of GoT, watch House of the Dragon
George RR Martin is helping with the writing of HoTD so its quality is staying way up

I've read all the books and it is disappointing to be left in the middle of a story

Rewatching Mr Robot rn, it's held up pretty well. From the last couple years, that I didn't see mentioned, in no particular order. Interview with a Vampire is very watchable, What we do in the Shadows, Dark Matter, Doom Patrol, Shogun, Smiling Friends, Perry Mason , Monsieur Spade (if you like your vintage style murder mysteries), Creature Commandos, Barry (🐐), Party Down, Poker Face (latest season's hit and miss), X-Men '97.
Barry and Perry Mason in particular are really special.

I liked the first two seasons best but the whole thing is great
Whole thing is incredibly creative and surprising. Not to mention how uniquely some of the scenes are shot. Also Noho hank is an all-timer.

i had low expectations of bill heder given his resume prior but he sells it
kinda unfortunate it aired in tandem with succession since it seemed to get more overt praise/recognition

Got it. It's because of that why I decided to watch Barry
Not that it was an amazing amazing movie but it was a more dramatic role and I thought he did it well
