Wifi works horribly, -but only under steam gaming session!- edit: always, and ethernet too

My wifi connection barely works. I'm on bazzite-deck on a generic Ryzen 7840hs mini PC (Firebat MN56).

It used to work fine on Windows and CachyOS, but even on CachyOS I noticed something weird: the wifi kept sucking whenever I opened Steam on gamescope from tty (same as the steam deck gaming mode).

So I installed CachyOS Handheld edition and the problem was still the same, then I tried Bazzite and guess what? Still the same.

In more detail, Wifi keeps having trouble connecting, and when it does it lasts a few seconds, or it has a horribly low speed... It's just unusable overall.

And yes my wifi is good, very good with every other device or even on the same PC when I was on Windows / non gaming session Linux.

I tried doing some research but nothing comes up related to this specific issue.
If someone has any clue on how to fix, please help! I don't wanna go back to Windows!

You can try switching to iwd with ujust toggle-iwdujust toggle-iwd to see if that improves it.

Thank you for the suggestion! It seemed to be working better but it didn't last long. Still having bad connection overall, and it seems to carry on desktop mode too even if I restart my wifi.

Maybe my MiniPC's wifi card just has bad support for linux. I'll try on ethernet to see if it'll work.

If this has to be the case, would you reccomend me to buy a new wifi card and replace the current one? Or is it too risky?

I'm not too familiar with wifi on linux really. If switching to iwd and/or disabling power saving don't help, switching might not be a bad idea. Which wifi chip do you have now?

Yea, as I imagined using ethernet fixes everything and makes connection blazingly fast. My wifi card is a Realtek RTL8852BE

When was the last time you updated or restarted? And how old is the build you installed? The image before the current one had some networking issues that was fixed by the current.

I apologize if this is hijacking a thread, but I'm having a similar issue, down to the specifics like running ujust toggle-iwdujust toggle-iwd helping for a short while. If this is better as a new thread please let me know.

Though, I have the non-deck Desktop image, so I don't have Steam Gaming Mode, but it's a similar issue so it could be a common problem. I also cannot test ethernet, so I don't know if it's a hardware or software, but as it's a similar issue with different hardware it might be software.

My issue specifically is trouble connecting to the network initially, regularly getting 10-20Mbps network speeds for a few minutes compared to 250-300Mbps when it is working, and showing "Limited Connectivity" with no network respond for several minutes at a time. I had low network speed while in Windows 11, but the rest of these are new on bazzite. It is not my network as other devices work flawlessly, like my M1 Macbook Air and iPhone 13 mini.

I can grab specific version numbers in the morning, but I have the x86 bazzite Desktop image from about 4 days ago, without any updates yet (if daily/regular updates are made). I'm using a ASUS PCE-AX3000 WiFi 6 card connected to my 5Ghz network with the bitrate in the network stats between 250-800Mbps (lowest to highest I've seen).
