Why do certain steam games freeze the display if their window is focused?

There are some games on steam that if they are in full screen or borderless and the window is focused, the display freezes completely but unfreezes if you alt-tab (or any method of switching windows) to a different window then it unfreezes until you go back the the game window. Does anyone know why a game might not have this issue the day before but the next day, it does? (game and base system had no updates) I am seeking for a more technical answer since I don't think this issue is on Bazzite's end.
Solution
I'm gonna place the real solution here as well. I completely resolved this issue for disabling the allowing of screen tearing in full screen windows. Unchecking the box that is circled in red completely eliminated the issue.
