System
OS: Bazzite stable
Deployments tested:
bazzite:stable 43.20260212 (current at time of testing)
bazzite:stable 43.20260126 (rollback test)
Desktop: KDE Plasma Wayland (XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland)
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (Navi10 / RDNA1)
Displays: Dual-monitor setup normally (primary 2560x1440), but also tested with only one monitor connected
VRR/FreeSync: Disabled (was enabled earlier)
HDR: disabled during testing
Problem
Launching graphics-intensive games causes an instant hard freeze / black screen with “No Signal”. When it happens, the system is fully unresponsive: cannot switch to TTY (Ctrl+Alt+F2 doesn’t work), requiring a hard reset.
This originally happened when joining servers / loading into matches (e.g. Hell Let Loose, ARC Raiders), and later started happening immediately after launching the game.
What I tried (no improvement)
Disabled VRR/Adaptive Sync/FreeSync
Tested 60 Hz and native refresh rate (no change)
Tested single monitor (physically unplugged second monitor) → still freezes
Rollback to previous Bazzite deployment (43.20260126) → still freezes
Tried launching via Gamescope (binary exists at /usr/bin/gamescope) → still freezes
