Touch Unresponsive in Gamemode after Hibernate but works in Desktop mode

I am using a USB Capacitive Touchscreen and while resume after SLEEP works perfectly, resume after HIBERNATE does not. Specifically, this issue is only in Gamemode because I can switch back and forth to desktop mode and touch works perfectly on the Desktop but not on the steam gamescope session.
Hibernate was done via HHD UI. Running on fresh install + updated to latest bazzite deck stable on 5800U laptop.
My workaround is to reset the USB device when resuming from hibernate which is OK, so I am wondering could someone make sense of this behaviour and why is it isolated to Gamemode? I'm guessing the USB cap. touchscreen when resuming from hibernate initializes with a different input device number and Gamescope doesn't reinit new devices?
--- UPDATE 2: Nvm opening any overlays (steam overlay and HHD UI) will crash the gamescope session if the touch USB device is reset. Any ideas..?
UPDATE: Resetting the device works but when swiping from the sides to use the gestures for HHD, the whole gamescope session + any game running completely crashes but using the controller shortcuts won't crash it. logs ---
