microphone is detected but no sound input

so basically i needed to call my friend on Discord when i realised that microphone doesnt work
i tried also in Telegram and its the same there
im reading forums and reddit posts for a week now and nothing seems to help
im an absolute noob with Linux so please help me someone🙏
