How to add unallocated space to Bazzite on Ally X

I dual booted Bazzite on my ROG Ally X, but everytime I did, there's still 927 GBs of unallocated space. Is there a way to move that space to the Bazzite partition?

How to update KNS items like plasmoids and themes

Before the plasma Discover store i used to update all my plasmoids and other kns stuff through discover, howver with the introduction of bazzar ( which i do perfer for flatpaks) discover was removed I tried overlaying discover back ont the system with

rpm-ostree install plasma-discover plasma-discover-kns plasma-discover-notifier

and i get the following error when i try to launch discover...

Major performance issues in most games

I have an Acer Nitro V 15 N23Q22 with an i9-13900H, a mobile RTX 4060, and Iris Xe Graphics. In CyberPunk on high preset I get 22-38 FPS at 30-40% GPU usage and 65-75% CPU usage. On Windows I would get over 100 FPS on high preset. In Elden Ring Nightreign on high preset I get 60 FPS at 60% GPU and 20-25% CPU but after around a minute my frames drop to 30-45 FPS, my GPU drops to around 44% and my CPU jumps to 30-45%....

Lutris unable to connect to the internet on clean Bazzite install

Fresh Bazzite install, got everything up and running and now want to add Battle.net. However: when opening Lutris, nothing that interacts with the internet does anything. The client just hangs. Login, searching for games, downloading updates, ... All of it makes the UI hang to the point where I have to kill the application. Everything else on my pc works perfectly fine, so it seems Lutris specific. Weirdly I can't find anyone else with this issue by the look of it. Things I have tried: - lutris -d in the terminal says wine is not installed, but I found another post on here stating that I shouldn't need that. It also says it couldn't find a terminal emulator, but I imagine that doesn't play a role either. - I tried checking the Firewall, but that application is honestly black magic to me. Will have to look up a guide on how to use it. As everything is stock though, I doubt the Firewall plays a role....

Hello, my installation came with python 3.13 installed, but I need 3.11. I managed to install 3.11 with homebrew, but I don't find a way to uninstall 3.13 or switch the active. My searches on the Internet always land me on homebrew or dnf....

How to enable envycontrol for nvidia optimus on bazzite

I have an extension installed to get switchable graphics modes in the system menu, but it always reports "unknown" - I think this is because envycontrol is not installed? Is there any guid or something on setting up laptops with nvidia optimus switchble graphics on Bazzite? Thanks!

Why a reboot every time I install a normal rpm?

rustdesk flatpack does not minimize to tray and I do not know how to setup SDDM X11 (as yet). So I have gone down the rpm-ostree install route for the normal fedora rpm on the rustdesk website, but I now have to reboot before it is seen and available to use. Any TLDR docs that I can read to see why this is? Thanks....

Just like the title says, When i play a game and if you can skip the shaders precompiling, if you did, the entire rog ally reboots. This has been an ongoing issue for me even with the newest system update....

dual boot with two NVME SSD

I would like to dual boot windows and bazzite on two separate ssds, I just installed the second ssd but should i activate it via windows or not? (i'll put a screenshot in case it's not clear I may be using the wrong words (TW: french, sorry)) For the installation should I also manually partition the ssd or make it bootable? sorry if the question has already been asked, I didn't find it here....

Solution:

Initialize from Windows (choose GPT obviously), delete any partition if windows automatically creates one. Boot up bazzite installer and let auto partitioner do its thing. I don't think it would matter if you chose not to initialize....

Sudden unexplained low disk space

I started getting some errors with updating about not enough free space and i noticed that dolphin all of the sudden reports only 9gb of free space the strange thing is i cant find what is using up all my space. my home directory is only 1tb and i have a 2tb disk. there's no way bazzite itslef could be using the remaining 1tb?...

Solution:

If you have btrfs snapshots, those will mess up available space as well I think.

Any help with a game still in Beta?

I'm a long-time Warframe player, and I got in on the closed Beta for Soulframe. It failed frequently on my old windows rig, and I was looking forward to giving it a proper test once I could play for more than ten minutesat a time. But I am unsure how to download/install it on Bazzite. I get a popup from Protontricks. It reflexively tries to install under steam, but Protontricks aparently doesn't have access to the folder. That's probably an easy fix, but then I get another popup asking me which...

Solution:

There is a lutris script for installing it with some extra info https://lutris.net/games/soulframe-preludes/ It works and the game runs great, but it was a bit of a hassle, I had to retry installing several times because of the corrupted download and some other weirdness going on with empty looking windows, also had to turn on the bulk download because of the corrupted download which iirc caused me to have 2 file explorer windows to pick install location, I think I just closed the other one. Follow the lutris directions and be prepared to trial&error, I think I deleted the game and all files from lutris and started over like 5 times before I got it to work but once it did, it works...

DaVinci Resolve Studio missing codecs/file formats

Can't get it to work at all, no matter what I install inside of the distrobox container. It's not showing up in the export list. I use an AMD GPU....

Solution:

Researched the topic even further, studied DaVinci docs. Looks like AV1, H265 and H264 are unsupported by DaVinci Resolve on Linux if you have an AMD GPU, even on the paid Studio version. No such problems with an NVIDIA GPU. Will probably resort to using DNxHR with no further re-encoding, or set up a script that will re-encode it back to AV1. Oh well....
