Monster Hunter Worlds Shader cache issues (Potentially other games?)

So after getting MHWI to work better using Gamescope (scb) I have noticed something odd with the game shaders. Before going farther I need to lay out what things I have tried and the outcomes; 1. Steam pre-caching enabled = Bad performance ALWAYS (always seems to do on the fly compilation, all other situations that follow I have it off) 2. Force the in game shader compiler to recompile, Perfect performance, NO stuttering at ALL, but takes 20 Minutes each game launch. 3. After closing the game state from 2 and reopening the game it goes back to on the fly compilation = bad performance....

Solution:

same issue, looking more into it, it appears to be a game specific bug, that's noted on Proton DB, with the EXACT same prognosis; "After a first launch/exit of the game, subsequent game sessions started with an existing shader cache experience extreme stuttering during gameplay."...

Back paddle buttons not working on Xbox Ally X?

Rebased to testing channel for Bazzite and beta on HHD. Tried all controller inputs of all various types and couldn't get back paddles to work. Are they currently unsupported? Edit: This was fixed in 2025.10.21 testing build....

Computer does not wake up after putting it to sleep.

* CPU: Intel i7-8700K * Motherboard: Asus Prime Z370-P I was advised to run ujust toggle-i915-sleep-fix and select Set to Auto (i915.enable_dc=-1). I did that and the first attached image is what was returned. The second image is my current Bazzite image deployment....

An unknown error has occurred

Hi everyone! I'm trying to install Bazzite on my PC but every time I start the installation, it gives me "An unknown error has occurred". I looked at the other thread that had the same issue but it seemed their problem stemmed from installing on drives configured in a RAID. I only have 1 NVME drive and it's been completely formatted by the Bazzite installer. I've tried to install Bazzite, Fedora, and Ubuntu, none of the installs will complete. External xinput controller issues on ROG Ally while docked

Hey y'all, tried to do my due diligence here and searched the forums to see if there was a fix, on the ROG Ally (original model) I've been having no end of issues trying to get wired xinput controllers to work through the dock. This is specifically for using the docked Ally as a casual fighting game setup at local events, so a lot of folks have their gp2040-CE controllers in xinput mode. This is easily worked around by putting the controllers into ps4 mode, but there's always that one guy with an old/official xbox fightstick board that just can't connect period. The problem really reared its head when my desktop was in storage and I was gaming purely on the docked Ally for a week, and had about a 50% success rate getting my regular xbox controller working at all. I was able to somehow finagle it to get it working in desktop mode only (I genuinely wish I could say how I did it but I don't remember), but if it was unplugged or the rog restarted I was back to square one. It's very strange too, because the controller will show up on Steam's controller list, but when using the input tester it will just show almost half the buttons as being held down (despite those inputs not even going through to either games nor steam). At this point I've tried Bazzite, SteamOS, and CachyOS. Of the three, Bazzite was definitely the most compatable aside from the controllers (I've had utter hell getting external monitors to function properly on either of the arch distros, and that's a hard requirement) and I really would like to be able to stay on Bazzite since the performance and just general UX is better on the handheld, but with controller compatability issues I'm sadly considering going back to windows on the damn thing just to have a setup that works for anyone who plugs in to play. Any help would be massively appreciated!...

Broke my desktop

I completely broke my desktop by setting the live wallpaper to a broken wallpaper engine wallpaper. Changing it to anything else and then restarting doesn't fix it. It just automatically defaults right back to the broken wallpaper. Anyway I can fix this?...

How do I fix this annoying problem with Bazzite on my desktop?

The annoying problem (doesn't always happen, but still annoying) is that whenever Bazzite puts my desktop to sleep, sometimes it locks up that when I try to wake it back up, it's unresponsive. Flow Z13 - Wake from sleep fails

I'm running into an issue where if I don't have the keyboard connected when powering on or waking from sleep, the devices sometimes fails to wake up or certain functions don't work. Some times the device won't even wake up if the keyboard isn't attached. Once I attach the keyboard, the device wakes up, but it is very slow and battery shows 0 or a negative number. I tend to use my device as a tablet/handheld, so I don't have the keyboard attached all the time....

Emojis not working on some flatpaks (Discord, Chrome...)

After applying an update on Bazzite KDE, emojis from some parts of Discord and Chrome flatpaks are not rendering right (they are black and white only outlines instead of colors), it looks like the noto-color-emoji has lost its reference or something. - It was working fine last week; - I noticed some other users also complained about this here on discord: Example 1; Example 2; Example 3; Example 4; - But I didn't find any opened issue on Github nor any post here (sorry if there's any, I really didn't find it); - I noticed that there are some people working on what may be a fix (or the cause) for this here: https://github.com/ublue-os/aurora/pull/1103...

Bazzite on Ayaneo 2?

Hey all! Sorry if this isn't the right place for this, I'm new to this and also complete linux noob! I've got an Ayaneo 2 that I would LOVE to get onto bazzite. Is this even possible? I saw that the Ayaneo Geek 1S is mentioned in the bazzite documentation but it wasn't clear to me whether the Ayaneo 2 is supported or unsupported but possible to get working or impossible. First time trying to dual boot Windows 10 and bazzite OS, any tips?

For starters, I have an ASUS ROG laptop that runs Windows 10. (I recently downgraded to 10). The specs are: AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics 4.00 GHz. I want to dual boot Bazzite and W10. I have a usb, could anyone give me tips, or suggestions?

Stylus input issue

I have been using weylus to use my android tablet as a drawing tablet with a stylus pen. the stylus is properly detected and has pressure sensitivity and stuff but it specifically works only for drawing if the program supports it, and i cannot click things with it. it used to work on x11, but obviously thats not an option ever worth thinking about anymore....

How to stop taskbar from detaching from screenedge

I just installed bazzite and I am annoyed at the taskbar. I like the windows style where it is just at the bottom, always as a stripe that completely fills the screen (see second screenshot). But when no Window is maximised, it detatches and becomes rounded (see first screenshot), which i find unpleasent. Booting to a black screen after updating to any image beyond (bazzite-deck:)42.20250817

I'm kind of stuck. I get a black screen after updating. Even the latets version has this problem. I made an issue a few weeks ago that has a solution, but I can't make that solution permanent as the filesystem is readonly.
