Helldivers 2 Crashes
When I play Helldivers 2, sometimes the game will freeze, the screen will go black and I will get game audio for a second, and then my PC will do a hard restart - going back to the sign-in screen.
Virtual Audio Cable Input
Hi all. Recently installed bazzite to give it a try. On Windows, I use VB-Audio Virtual Cable to route my headset audio through OBS to apply filters, then to a sink which is then set as the input to Discord but I cannot figure out how to do the same over here. I ran
ujust setup-virtual-channels and I see all of the channels as outputs but those aren't inputs I can then route through Discord. I've been trying to mess around with Helvum but its going over my head a bit. Has anyone figured this o...Help with audio drivers

External Display Management while in Gaming Mode
Is there any way we could get some controls over the external displays while in Gaming mode? By default, it just automatically shows only on an external display. However, this will not always work for all setups. I'm aware you can manage the displays appropriately in Desktop mode, but would like to see some controls in Gaming Mode.

All Networks Dead after trying to install Decky
I decided to install decky on my Bazzite mini PC (Trigkey R8 - 8745hs) and immediately after the next reboot, both wired and Wi-Fi networks fail to connect - no obvious errors in the logs and Wi-Fi still shows the available networks but never get an IP address from DHCP
I've obviously tried uninstalling Decky but that didn't do anything. I'm at a bit of a loss for what to do next. Very bloody frustrating...

Screen Locks up with low GPU usage
This issue appears to occur whenever I am using my computer under extremely low load (Browsing Reddit or playing an idle game) I have attached the logs from Journalctl -r as well as the requested command from the error. Whenever I am actually playing games it does not.
Please let me know whatever other information you require and I'll be sure to get it to you right away....
Can't connect to my school wifi (WPA2 Enterprise)
I don't know where to get all of the information (IPv4/6, domain, stuff like that) to connect which I suppose a Windows computer grabs automatically, and the IT department doesn't know how to handle Linux. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

unattended moonlight on desktop
im trying to remote into my machine while im away from home. The only way I found that works consistently is moonlight. Id use the built in rdp service but on half the devices i use it just shows a black screen and the port interferes with winboat.
when i try to remote into my machine after ive logged in it's fine, but when im away from home i cant get past the sddm greeter screen. I can still ssh into the machine to change any settings. Is this possible?...
Steam refuses to download, disk write error
So a new day has dawned, I've got a couple days off work, I decided to download Dwarf Fortress again and see if I can get anywhere. However, steam refuses to download to either the games partition or the main partition. It tells me "Disk Write Error". I've tried messing with the mount options but no dice there. I tried downloading to the main partition but still no dice. Games already downloaded work fine. Attached is the error I get and the mount options for the games drive.
Any ideas?...

every time i restart my pc this command pops up and is draining tons of resources and doing nothing. I let it run for an hour once and nothing happened. It just keeps sucking resources, i searched online couldnt really find anything and chatgpt wasnt any help. Joined the discord as a last resort not sure what to do.

I have an LG 5K Thunderbolt monitor connected to an MSI Z690i Unify motherboard over Thunderbolt, which is then attached to an RTX 3070. The 3070 has two DP cables which feed into the DP-in ports on the motherboard, and then the motherboard merges both DisplayPort streams into one Thunderbolt cable for the display to run on.
This is currently detected as two separate displays, where the first display can only hit 3840x2160 and the second display is capped to 2560x2880. How can I add in a custom resolution of 5K (5120x2880) to actually use the display at full resolution? This setup works in Windows, so this isn't a wiring issue....

System lockups / kernel panics when under load
My system will choke and freeze or straight up kernel panic with very little to see in the journalctl logs. In fact it froze when I tried to grep the journalctl logs without constraining the search beforehand (the regular command still works though).
This also happens at random when playing 3D rendered games such as Totalwarhammer III (native OR proton) or Mortal Sin (proton) on any graphics setting and with no other desktop programs running. I have managed other linux installs over the years on my laptops but this is the first time I'm using it for gaming.
Games with simple demands run just fine: Balatro, Hollow Knight, Nubby Number Factory, Retro Emulators are all okay....
My Rog Ally X has some crucial issues...
Hi there so my rog ally x 2024 on bazzite has been a delight but there is a crucial issue and I have searched the discord to make sure no one had the same issue and im pretty sure nobody has. It randomly disconnects from wifi, and either the wifi options disappear or are just unreachable. I turned off fast boot in the bios and the problem persists. Thanks for all the help.
Monster Hunter Worlds Shader cache issues (Potentially other games?)
So after getting MHWI to work better using Gamescope (scb) I have noticed something odd with the game shaders. Before going farther I need to lay out what things I have tried and the outcomes;
1. Steam pre-caching enabled = Bad performance ALWAYS (always seems to do on the fly compilation, all other situations that follow I have it off)
2. Force the in game shader compiler to recompile, Perfect performance, NO stuttering at ALL, but takes 20 Minutes each game launch.
3. After closing the game state from 2 and reopening the game it goes back to on the fly compilation = bad performance....
Solution:
same issue, looking more into it, it appears to be a game specific bug, that's noted on Proton DB, with the EXACT same prognosis;
"After a first launch/exit of the game, subsequent game sessions started with an existing shader cache experience extreme stuttering during gameplay."...
Back paddle buttons not working on Xbox Ally X?
Rebased to testing channel for Bazzite and beta on HHD.
Tried all controller inputs of all various types and couldn't get back paddles to work. Are they currently unsupported?
Edit: This was fixed in 2025.10.21 testing build....
