DH Terrain Generation

Hey folks, not sure if this is worth a full help-me thread, but just following the rules - Does DH on a server, when set to INTERNAL_SERVER mode, leverage the multiple threads to generate those chunks similar to C2ME? Or does it switch to a more conventional single-thread approach in the absence of C2ME?...

DistantHorizons destroys server performance

I have a Server running using DistantHorizons, I lowered the settings, chunk generation only to pregenerated chunks and low cpu impact. However it absolutely destroys the performance, how can I lower the settings even more? Or can I completely disable it serverside? I do not want to take it out of my Modpack

How do i put the limit for world generation?

Right now feels like dh is generating chunks far beyond my render distance (256)

If you set your DH distance to 256, its generating until then

Black Chunks in Modpack

I have these weird really dark shadows in a modpack that I found (Sky Islands Legacy Neoforge 1.20.1 on Modrinth). From what I saw online, It could be a incompatible mod problem, but it looks a little different. Didn't look like any settings fixed it either. (pretty sure their not just shadows too)

Regenerate LODS

want some basic info -> how often do LODs regenrate client side. I didnt see this in the faqs but I'm basically doing a big mining project and its kinda annoying that LOD hasnt updated. so when I fly down to current Y level, I basically phase through the LOD as I get close to it, is it possible to force a regeneration?

is their any issue that pop outs at you with my modpack? it runs very poorly on tick rate

Ocean Color and Transparent LOD Beneath Water-Surface

Hello, my previous incompatibility with Hybrid Aquatic was identified. I still am having issues with ocean LODs being a different color than my local rendered chunks, and when I go underwater and look toward LODs, water becomes transparent as shown in the attached images. Any fixes? Singleplayer, 1.20.1. Mod list in my other post.

Giant color map in debug mode, DH doesn't work otherwise 80% of the time

Not sure how to get the mod list, I am using this modpack: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/calamycraft with added Essential and Distant Horizons I have disabled Alex's Caves Ambient Light Coloring, tried searching for a different solution but wasn't able to find anything in the faq or in the search bar here or on google. I am using default settings. This is a screenshot of Debug view, if I enable "only render LODs" the entire world becomes transparent. I would just give up on getting Distant Horizons working but I did get it working previously, it just broke apart once again....

Is using this mod realistic with 100 players

I am hosting a 100 player civilisation event, the world will be 4k x 4k and the whole world will be pre generated. how CPU ram and network intensive would it be to have the mod installed and also Distant Generation enabled for the players

Massive holes on dh lods

I am using Distant horizons + reterraforged and whenever I load DH lods there are massive holes that wont generate that appear in a somewhat circular pattern. I have tried for months to identify what mod if any is causing this but if I add ANY performance mod to the modpack it causes these holes in the lods. This happens on forge and fabric and i have tried updating DH, downgrading DH, removing all the mods and adding them back, removing all terrain gen mods (it happens on all the ones i tried) and nothing has fixed it. Is there anything I can do to fix this??? A setting? A bug that could be causing this? A config that could fix this?? this is on 1.20.1 forge and fabric (I'm just trying forge at this point), tried 250, 512 and 1k DH render distance, different performance and quality settings, nothing has fixed it yet the mod list is the most recent one i tried on forge 1.20.1 ...

Generated LODs are All One Solid Color

I am using Embedium+Oculus with forge for Minecraft 1.20.1 using the Bliss Shaders (Stable). I created a new world to test this out and DH began to render, but it was all Pink or Orange. Could this be a Bliss shader issue? What's going on? Everything is the latest version. Thank you.
Solution:
you turned on a debug feature. either turn it off again, or if you cant find it, reset to default settings by deleting the config file at .minecraft/config/distanthorizons.toml

Using DH Fabric on a server with a tunnel

So I want to send LODs from my Server to my clients, and I understood that this happens on the separate port 25049, the problem is I can not port forward my network so I have to use a tunnel from playit.gg, this however has a different port and hostname from my main tunnel, so I would need to configure DH to use it somewhere. Is there such an option? Simple Voice Chat for example has the voice_host field to resolve exactly this problem.

you dont need to open an aditional port. it should work fine with a tunnel from playit.gg i think

Irregular Transparent Water Blocks

Single player. 1.20.1. Modlist attached. Was working just fine until I recently added TrashSlot, Cave Dust, Horseman, Easy Shulker Boxes, Subtle Effects, Elytra Trims, Fast Item Frames, Fast Paintings, Camera Overhaul, Countered's Terrain Slabs, and AutoHUD. I recognize that is a lot, but I don't see how any of these would interfere with LOD generation like this in a new world. I will continue troubleshooting on my own but thought I might put this here at the same time incase the issue is obviou...

Kills my TPS even when fully disabled?

I've been building a large modpack, and during testing i found that my TPS was pasuing alot during gameplay. This was evident on the TPS graph with ALT + F3, yet no spikes occurred when the ticks came back. I did a binary search and found it was DH, tried enabling it but disabling distant gen and rendering DH cunks, and my TPS is still consumed. If i unninstall DH however, it's fine.

DH Fatal crash (Memory?)

Crashes after after some time, 256 render distance, 10gb of ram.

Can i render chunks in survival if i know the seed for multiplayer

And add them to folder that cointains data for multiplayer?
