World generation in general is quite slow and world gen mods can slow it down even more. If you want to speed it up:
Install Noisium, Lithium and C2ME. These mods can improve generation speed by a bit, but it will still not be fast.

CPU Load in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU. You are not required to wait for the full generation to finish, although it is better for fps if you do.

Hi there, im new to distant horizons. I've tried to look through sources to answer my own question and unfortunately was not able to locate it, but I was wondering if there was a way to not have to visit a chunk for it to load on a server ? is there a way to make it like singleplayer?

Heya I have been trying to set it up for the last 5 hours and I feel like I hit the limit to what I can do
My current status is DH works, shaders work but there seems to be an issue with lightning between the vanilla and dh chunks, based on the info on the f3 menu could anyone recommend next steps/solution to solve this?

DH doesn't appear to be doing anything or loading any LOD chunks in Ardacraft Modpack and Server
Installed the Ardacraft modpack through Modrinth, as per their instructions on their website. Distant Horizons, included in the modpack, doesn't appear to be doing anything. With shaders deactivated, it doesn't seem to be generating any LOD chunks or showing any, and the only visual distinction I can see when turning rendering on and off in the mod settings is that the farthest chunks I can see turn darker when the mod is rendering. (To be clear, it's not that additional chunks are being shown, but dark, but rather the same exact chunks are visible with and without the mod, but the farthest ones are darker when the mod is on.) With the included shaders on (bliss), I get the effect where the terrain smears across the sky, but I see that's a known issue, so for now I'm focusing on fixing DH not working with shaders off.
I can't see any similar issues being asked about here or generally online, and asking for support in the Ardacraft discord led me here.

Okay, I have managed to solve this after another reinstall, not sure what I did differently.

Problems Migrating from Plugin to Mod
(Server Hosted on G-Portal, Minecraft 1.21.1, Fabric 0.16.14. DH 2.3.4-b)

Ive switched my server from Paper to Fabric, and while using the Plugin Version of the Serverside support didn't create any problems for me, i just cant get the Mod version to work now.
As soon as a player Joins the console just prints...

It doesnt crash anymore on Modrinth (15$/Month package) pregen is running now.
(So dont use Gportal if you do, or use the Plugin version if possible)...
Help, everything is just yellow/white with Distant Horizons
Help, I don’t even know what is happening. 😅
I only use Create and some addons, I don’t have any world gen mods.
I’m using Kappa shaders, but when I load into a world with Distant Horizons, the whole screen just turns super bright yellow/white and I can’t see anything.
It also keeps saying “DH is loading chunks” and sometimes I see OpenGL Error 1282 (Invalid operation) in chat....

Way to toggle DH per world save?
Is there anyway I can completely turn off DH per a world save? I have a creative world I don’t need DH on but would like to keep it on for every other world I play. Thank you for your help and sorry if this is in the FAQ I didn’t see it in the skim through I did

The top floors are lit up and completely disconnected from the rest of the building, yet the entire building is illuminated.

Chunk size is consistent, regardless of dimension. You specify the same radius if you want exactly the amount of chunks to generate as you did with the overworld.
