Beta Backup / Browsing does not function when using MTLS for Client Authentication

Setup: Server 1.140.1 , Apple IOS Immich 1.140.1 I've noticed on my IOS clients, Backup will not function if I require a Client Certificate for authentication. It seems the process does not even start, and I am not seeing anything in the client logs. My server is behind a proxy server that requires MTLS. If I move the client to connect to the immich server direct (without MTLS), beta backup works fine without issue. Also, I am unable to view any server side video when under MTLS, but view them fine without MTLS. Again, this is in Beta mode....

Setting Up a File Folder to be able to go to immich

I am not sure what the best method for uploading photos, but I had assumed it to be exporting from my current solution (Google Photos) and then importing by folder into my immich external library. At the very least, I'd like to set this up for the future if possible. I have done what I thought would work for this, but it hasn't worked. I feel like I'm just missing a tiny thing but I'm not sure what it is. I don't know how to get my docker yml file, I'm on truenas and have immich running as an app there....

After the update to the new version of v1.140.1, server not responding

Hi, I need help with my server running back again. When I run docker compose pull, it pulls new versions but stops at 95% with a certificate error related to Tailscale. After trying again, it worked, but now my PostgreSQL and Immich server containers keep restarting, as shown in their status. Also, I cannot access my server using Tailscale MagicDNS. I tried to move back to the older version, which is v1.139.4, but the issue is still there. Now, I cannot run Immich. Please bear with me as I am not a powerful user....

Guide to import Apple photos

Hi all, Thanks for this wonderful app. I just started setting everything up and works great. Google photos import is finished and now working on the iCloud Photos by exporting the original files from the photos app and started the transfer process via Immich-go. Had some problems with their Apple takeout. Would you recommend using this instead of exporting? Everything works like a charme, except that I saw that the aae sidecar from Apple is not included and not added to the photos as it’s not possible yet. ...

Backup tools other than restic or borg

I'm in a pickle about backups. I use immich as an addon in Home Assistant OS (HAOS). I know it's not the standard setup, but it made things way easier for me and I'd prob wouldn't be able to use it otherwise, as I don't have docker/container experience at all. After all the server setup, library migration and all, I set up a rclone job as means of a library backup to my Google Workspace Shared Drive (the cloud storage I already pay for and has spare space). A daily copy job, and then a weekly sync job to clean-up deleted files. That works fine. ...

How to exclude specific videos from being transcoded?

For some videos I would prefer no transcoding at all as they are quite large. Are there some kind of exclusion patterns for video transcoding or another trick to achieve this?

Album folders in UPLOAD_LOCATION

Hi, I have a bunch of folders named after albums in my UPLOAD_LOCATION directory. I think these were created by an older version of immich, because my newer albums do not have their own folder. I'm assuming these are not safe to delete, but is there a way to migrate them to the way my new albums are?

Postgres column does not exist after restore.

Hello! I'm currently running Immich v1.131.3 and just tried to restore my database from a backup, following the steps in the docs. Now, when I try to load the website, I get an error in the immich_server logs. Although my albums load, none of the actual photos are loading.

Cannot access immich through cloudflared tunnel with cloudflare app configured for the domain.

After updating to 1.39.4 I found out that I am not able to load immich from the domain through the tunnel. What happens to thumbnails, etc. when deleting external library?

If I have an external library and immich has scanned it, generated thumbs, etc. and I then remove that external lib. Does this mean that those thubnails, etc. get purged and space is freed up? Or do they stay in the cache?

my City not imported

It seem Immich is importing to table "geodata_places" all cites with population bigger than 500. I think it imports datas from the files "cities500.txt" from GeoNames. Few weeks ago, i added one new city "X" (with population bigger than 500) to GenoName website, and adjusted the population of city "Y" to be 1200. After immich upgrade, i can find my new city "X" has been properly imported to Immich. Nice! But the city "Y" is still not imported. Seem to be ignored. I confirmed that the new population value is properly there into the latest version of "cities500.txt" file. So the file seem ok. i did few modifications on GeoName to try to figure out myself which value should i change to make Immich importing my city "Y", but no luck. Someone knows what are conditions immich considers to import data to its database ?...

Import of mp4 with wrong timestamp

I have an external library that I'm importing and I have a bunch of videos showing up on 2025-06-21 which have been shot at various different times. The one with the boat was shot on 2022-10-15. As you can see on the screenshot, the folder where it's stored at, as well as the filename, indicate the correct date/time. Can someone shed a light on this for me as to why immich supposes that video is being dated 2025-06-21. BTW, there are numerous videos at different times (e.g. 2023-01-13) that show all up on 2025-06-21. The import of the library has been conducted on 2025-08-27, so that's also not the date the video is tagged with....

Side up/down arrow not functional in Search

Hi all, looking for some help or maybe a bug report. im on Android phone with Immich 1.140. i noticed in the "Search" tap / mod, the arrow on the side is not working. it works in the timeline. anyone else experiencing the same?
