The 'inertia' + damper effect gives it a feeling of some weight in the controls (weight of the actual control surfaces). And once the in-game spring effect kicks in everything feels like I "think" is should feel ... :)) I never flew any airplanes so my 'feeling' can be totally off, but nevertheless I enjoy what I have :))

the spring settings in the 'Settings' tab is the overall spring setting, so from what I understand it gives dcs acess to the % of spring effect you set

so I'm still not 100% on all this, but from my understanding the Settings tab is the overall settings that the base will use ie. 75% of the spring power can be used by the game etc. then the Effects tab is for setting the strength of the periodic effects that happen.

input is whatever strength signal dcs is sending then you multiply it by 1 if you want 100% gain and the output is the result of that

The way it works in DCS's:
- the game puts out mainly the Spring effect and Periodic effect (vibration during stalls, or damage to control surfaces, etc).
- The Spring effect in 'effects' tab gets over-ridden by DCS's in-game spring effect.
- The spring slider in "Settings" controls the overall strength of DCS's in-game spring effect. Adding "spring" effect from Effects doesn't do much on top of in-game spring effect, so I leave it off.
- DCS does not generate any inertia or damper signals, so those I add manually by enabling them in "effects" tab and then controlling their overall strength via sliders in Settings.
- I also ramped up the "spring strength proportional damping" to 100% (top right corner, under PSU power), it gives the in-game spring effect a nice balance, it's in addition to the damper 'effect'/slider.

- yes, you can save different profiles (using import/export buttons)
- stick center can be set via "FFB Axes Setup" on Settings tab (at the bottom). Essentially you set the stick new limits in X and Y via their min and max positions..
