MIs there a way to save different profiles for different aircraft?
MThink I need to change the stick centre position to stop the ka50 stick being so aggressively forward

MOh yeah I tried your setting but I guess I didn’t follow the effects tab
Sfor DIY kits, how do you wire up the e-stop on the rhino unit? it's not on the diagram (https://discord.com/channels/965234441511383080/972180323787997255/990914366155149362) or do you just route the 12v power though it or a relay or something?
WI connected it inline with the 20VDC positive power wire from the power supply.
WHit the e-stop and the positive lead is disconnected
Pif this hasn't been answered, periodic effects are the shaking effects that the game sends to the device

WYes indeed, you can see it in action in my yt channel, mig-21 or ka-50 videos.
Pyes, they are shown in the "debug" tab once you start flying (won't show the effect if you're just sitting in the game menu's). To see it clearly disable all of the effects in "effects" tab (and make sure there are no loaded effects shows in the debug tab) and load the game. The debug window won't show anything at first, but once you get in to the cockpit the effect will show up in the debug tab, i think it loads the DCS Spring effect as ID:5 ..
PHey, just wondering with msfs2020 not supporting ffb natively will the VPforce software add effects itself, or do I need to add a program like XPForce?
WYeah, you will need XPforce for now

Wyeah, Asobo did not implement FFB support, so it's the best solution currently
POh sorry I got excited & thought you meant your software might be able to do it one day! Looks like I'll have to try XPForce. I wonder if it's any good?
WYeah, it's pretty good, there are some caveats though, like no force trim on helicopters. There's also one outstanding bug with the Rhino - the constant force direction is inverted with some XPforce effects. Due to be fixed soon.
Pahh ok, no force trim on heli's oh no! Any chance of a hardware force trim for VPforce software in the future? If that's even possible

PWhat about using my vkb grip going through the adapter? can I set one of it's buttons for hardware force trim or would it have to be a button going through the Rhino?
WYeah, this will be done using the "loopback" application

WIt essence it passes buttons along to the Rhino and imitates a virtual grip

CIs it only for XP force ? As I have my DIY Rhino mounted with back face put in front, I had to reverse one axis. I had an issue with effects inverted in DCS or Il2. I do not remind if I had to finally invert axis in game or with your config SW to sort it out, and I do not have access to my PC to check...
PWalmis if I wanted to build a grip for the Rhino, would it need to be built as a standalone grip? Like would it need to have a usb board like Arduino that the base then picks up? or does the board inside the Rhino base handle that?
WUSB stuff is handled by the mainboard, grip is read via 5 pin shift-register TM/Virpil interface
WYou could buy a VPforce shift register board to implement grip buttons.

POh wow that makes it simple, well maybe not exactly simple for me. I'll definitely be interested in this at some point as I'd like to make a grip or two that aren't commonly available. Thanks again

II’m making and assumption here, but I take it that board doesn’t allow for a analog axis to pass through to the main board. Does the main board have the analog input built in?
WMain board has 2 pot ports, other than that analog data could be digitized and piggy-backed on the SPI bus with an arduino as SPI-slave for example.

WYep. Select Loopback grip type in the Rhino GUI too.
Phey m8 can I ask what's the 'Balanced Spring' option do?
Pis it just to help heavier grips like the vkb mcgu to stay upright?
WThe idea is turn off all other effects and adjust the balance spring so when you move the grip to the sides at various deflections and leave it there it stays put. Heavy grips tend to weigh down the more deflected they are from center, this is to counter that (if needed)
