Yep, the WW adapter just plugs into the existing connector on the base.

The good thing is those parts are easily replaceable, on the other hand metal I agree, is desirable, just haven't figured out how realize them without introducing significant cost yet. CNCing them would be quite expensive I believe. I imagine WW adapter would cost 100€ instead of 35€ in that case
